The Asian Golf Tourism Conference - AGTC 2025, held in Da Nang, attracted 450 delegates from 33 countries and territories. Activities included a survey program for golf travel agencies, the AGTC 2025 Golf Championship, the Asian Golf Tourism Conference, over 4,500 meetings between international travel companies and golf tourism service providers, and the IAGTO Awards ceremony. This event made a strong impression on the golf community. According to Peter Walton, President of the World Golf Tourism Association: “The Asian Golf Tourism Conference - AGTC 2025 will create tremendous value for Da Nang as a destination. This event, with the participation of 168 travel companies specializing in golf tourism, will showcase resorts and golf courses here, many of whom are visiting Da Nang for the first time. Meetings between international travel companies and golf tourism service providers are expected to generate increased revenue for golf destinations in Asia, Vietnam, and especially Da Nang. Golf tourism in Da Nang and Central Vietnam is experiencing growth not only in the number of golf courses but also in the increasing number of golf rounds played. According to statistics from the Central Vietnam Golf Course Alliance, in 2024, the total number of golf rounds at courses in Central Vietnam reached 387,000, a 13.8% increase compared to 2023, and is projected to reach 410,000 rounds in 2025, a further increase of over 10% compared to 2024. According to the Vietnam Tourism Development Strategy to 2030, approved by the Prime Minister, developing infrastructure and creating golf tourism products is identified as one of the key directions in the development of Vietnam's tourism industry. Da Nang has set directions and is actively promoting the attraction of golf tourists, quickly approaching global golf organizations and hosting major golf events and tournaments, including the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang and the Asian Golf Congress in 2027.
Mr. Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism, stated that the return of the 2025 Asian Golf Tourism Conference to Da Nang for the second time is a valuable opportunity to introduce to international friends a dynamic, modern coastal city with outstanding tourism potential; to promote the image of golf tourism, along with its system of 5-star standard hotels and resorts, stunning natural landscapes, and high-class tourism services. This will help the city affirm its position on the regional and international golf tourism map and open up many opportunities for cooperation and investment to develop golf tourism and high-end tourism. At the same time, the event has contributed to boosting the tourism industry and affirming Da Nang's position as "Asia's leading festival and event destination". The congress also aims to facilitate the strengthening of connections and exchanges between golf tourism businesses in Da Nang, Vietnam, and international golf travel agencies, while enriching and diversifying tourism events in 2025 to attract high-end and high-spending tourists.
| The International Association of Golf Travel Agents (IAGTO), established in 1997, has 2,428 accredited members, including golf travel companies, golf resorts, hotels, golf courses, tour operators, airlines, travel agencies, licensed media channels, and business partners in 93 countries. The core of these is 712 golf travel companies in 68 countries. IAGTO travel companies control over 90% of golf travel packages sold globally, generating over €2.5 billion in revenue annually. The Asian Golf Travel Congress – AGTC 2025 is one of three official IAGTO events, alongside congresses in Europe and North America.
