Free surgery for children with cleft lip

Giving gifts to child patients during the Month of Action for Children with Cleft Lip and Palate

Since 2010, Smile Train has collaborated with Hue Central Hospital on numerous programs to provide free surgeries for underprivileged children with cleft lip and palate, dental arch defects, and other deformities. To date, approximately over 1,000 cases have received free surgery, bringing smiles, confidence, and happiness to thousands of patients and their families.

At this launch event, Hue Central Hospital announced that all patients over 3 months old with cleft lip and palate deformities can register to participate. The children will receive 100% free cleft lip surgery and hospitalization, and will also receive partial support for travel and food expenses during treatment.

To help children integrate into life more easily, in addition to cleft lip and palate surgery, pediatric patients need multidisciplinary care and treatment (speech therapy, orthodontics, and cosmetic surgery). With this in mind, Hue Central Hospital will collaborate with Smile Train to establish a Cleft Lip and Palate Center in Central Vietnam, providing free examinations and treatment for children undergoing speech rehabilitation after surgery, as well as orthodontic treatment for pediatric patients.
