Every day, the Metro Line 1 trains roll along, serving tens of thousands of passengers. Behind this smooth operation are many unsung heroes, little known to the public, from the operating team at the OCC (Operations Control Center) – considered the "brain" of the entire line – to the technical maintenance work that ensures the safety of the trains. In particular, the train cleaning process plays an equally important role.

We carry out thorough ship cleaning operations to provide passengers with a fresh and comfortable environment.
To perform automated ship washing, the operating unit plans the ship's movement and sends the schedule to the OCC (Operations Control Center). Upon receiving the order, technicians inspect the system, ensuring the washing station is ready before bringing the ship in according to the control signal. Each washing cycle lasts approximately 15-20 minutes. Afterwards, the ship is returned to the dock or maintenance yard to resume passenger service.

Team leader of the metro train crew, Pham Thi Thu Thao, shared about the train cleaning process.
Ms. Pham Thi Thu Thao, Team Leader of the Train Drivers Team on Metro Line 1 Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien, shared that the train cleaning process always involves smooth coordination between the OCC dispatch center, the train drivers, and the maintenance company. When a train cleaning plan is received, all three parties confirm it before implementation begins.

Check the system's condition to ensure safe washing operation.
Mr. Nguyen Phan Huan, Team Leader of the Locomotive and Rolling Stock Team on Metro Line 1 Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien, said that they always check the condition of the washing station and systems to ensure that the washing process operates safely and quickly, avoiding any incidents.
Currently, there are three train washing modes: washing the entire train, washing both sides of the train, and washing trains that pass through the yard without being washed to facilitate train storage. On average, the station washes about 4 to 5 trains per day.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thu, a train driver technician, shared his insights on the role of train drivers in the train cleaning process.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thu, a train driver and technician on Metro Line 1 Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien, shared that during the train cleaning process, drivers must prioritize safety first, followed by operating according to signals. The most important thing to note during operation is to operate at the correct speed to ensure the cleaning system is thorough. At the same time, the driver must stop at the correct position so that the sensor system cleans both glass surfaces correctly.

Keeping metro trains clean contributes to preserving the city's aesthetics.
"Operating on a dirty line affects aesthetics, and technically, dust will stick to the braking system, making braking difficult. Therefore, cleaning the train is extremely important," shared Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thu.
The Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro Line 1 currently has 17 trains in operation. Behind each safe train operation is a team of hundreds of people working day and night at maintenance centers, operation centers, and dispatch centers. Every task performed by the entire team in each department and position is important and valuable.
