On the afternoon of September 19, in Ha Long City, Comrade Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had a meeting with the Provincial Literature and Arts Association to direct the completion of the Project on developing literature and arts in Quang Ninh province until 2030; plan to reorganize the Literature and Arts Associations into the Union of Literature and Arts Associations; prepare for the Congress of the Quang Ninh Literature and Arts Association for the 2024-2029 term and orientate important key contents in the field of literature and arts in the last 4 months of 2024 and prepare tasks for 2025.
In the first 9 months of 2024, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association has focused on developing a plan to prepare for literary and artistic activities. The work of building the organization and grasping the ideological situation of members has been given special attention, encouraging artists to constantly gain experience and be active in artistic creation. The organization of literary and artistic activities has been constantly innovated in both scale and quality, attracting the attention and response of a large number of artists and people. The coordination with localities and sectors to implement activities of opening creative camps, going on creative field trips and organizing cultural events has also contributed to enhancing the role and effectiveness of literature and arts in the cultural life of the people and the political tasks of localities as well as the province.
Statistics in the first 9 months of 2024 showed that over 500 new works were submitted to the Association. Most of the works are of good quality with diverse and rich topics, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, unity, discipline, and bold innovation of the Party Committee and people of all ethnic groups in Quang Ninh; strongly promoting the image of Quang Ninh land and people in the period of innovation and integration; many works are written about the country, the Party, Uncle Ho and the innovation cause, history, heroic traditions, potential, position and prestige of Quang Ninh province...
At the meeting, delegates also expressed many heartfelt opinions related to the cost of publishing works, difficulties in building and developing teams, especially young creative forces. At the same time, they requested the Provincial People's Committee to pay attention to issuing the award standards for literary and artistic competitions at all levels and internationally; organizing large-scale festivals on music, sculpture, fine arts, etc.
After listening to the report of the Literature and Arts Association and the opinions of the delegates, Comrade Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that in the first 9 months of 2024, the Association has made remarkable efforts by successfully organizing many events to enrich the cultural and spiritual life of the people. The members of the Association have all implemented well the policies of the Party and the Laws of the State, and are dedicated to the work of creating literary and artistic works.
Regarding the tasks in the last 4 months of the year and 2025, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Literature and Arts Association to closely follow the tasks and targets according to the annual work program, important events of the country and the province such as: Celebrating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam; Celebrating the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday; Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; Celebrating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Mining Region... and must be specific in a plan for implementation.
The Provincial Literature and Arts Association needs to focus on completing the Project "Developing Literature and Arts of Quang Ninh province in the period of 2024-2030"; Project "Reorganizing Literature and Arts Associations into the Union of Literature and Arts Associations of Quang Ninh province"; Project to organize the Congress of the Quang Ninh Provincial Literature and Arts Association for the term 2024-2029.
At the same time, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association needs to continue to strengthen the organization of cultural events in remote, border and island areas; have serious scientific research topics on the province's art forms; coordinate with functional units to research, build and establish Quang Ninh theater. In particular, strengthen the grasp of the ideological situation of the team of artists and members, contributing to building a clean and strong Association.
He also assigned the Department of Culture and Sports to soon develop a Resolution on policy mechanisms related to award standards for cultural and artistic competitions at all levels and internationally; policy mechanisms for folk artisans and artists in the Mining Region, etc.
Regarding some proposals of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association as well as artists, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that in the coming time, the provincial leaders will pay attention to removing difficulties in creative activities, building appropriate incentive policies to inspire new creativity for artists.
