Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hanh works with the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts.

On the afternoon of September 19th, in Ha Long City, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, held a working session with the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts to direct the completion of the Project on the Development of Literature and Arts in Quang Ninh Province until 2030; the planned reorganization of the Associations of Literature and Arts into a Union of Associations of Literature and Arts; the preparation for the Congress of the Quang Ninh Provincial Association of Literature and Arts for the 2024-2029 term; and the orientation of important key contents in the field of literature and arts for the last four months of 2024 and preparation for tasks in 2025.

The head of the Department of Culture and Sports gave his remarks at the meeting.

During the first nine months of 2024, the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts focused on developing plans to prepare for literary and artistic activities. Emphasis was placed on organizational development and monitoring the ideological sentiments of members, encouraging artists to continuously improve their skills and actively engage in artistic creation. The organization of literary and artistic activities was constantly innovated in both scale and quality, attracting the attention and participation of a large number of artists and the public. Coordination with localities and sectors to organize creative workshops, field trips, and cultural events contributed to enhancing the role and effectiveness of literature and arts in the cultural life of the people and the political tasks of localities and the province.

Statistics for the first nine months of 2024 show that over 500 new works were submitted to the Association. Most of the works are of good quality, with diverse and rich themes, reflecting the spirit of unity, discipline, and bold innovation of the Party Committee and people of Quang Ninh; strongly promoting the image of Quang Ninh's land and people in the era of reform and integration; many works are about the country, the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, the reform process, the glorious history and traditions, potential, position, and prestige of Quang Ninh province…

Representatives from the Photography Association suggested that the province should organize large-scale art festivals.

During the meeting, delegates also expressed many heartfelt opinions regarding the funding for publishing works, difficulties in building and developing the workforce, especially young writers. They also requested the Provincial People's Committee to consider issuing regulations on prize money for arts and culture competitions at all levels and internationally; and to organize large-scale festivals focusing on music, sculpture, and fine arts.

After listening to the report of the Association of Literature and Arts and the opinions of the delegates, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that in the first nine months of 2024, the Association had made commendable efforts in successfully organizing many events to enrich the cultural and spiritual life of the people. The Association's members have all effectively implemented the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, and are dedicated to creating works of literature and art.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts during the first nine months of 2024.

Regarding the tasks for the last four months of the year and for 2025, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts closely adhere to the tasks and targets according to the annual work program, as well as important national and provincial events such as: the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam; the 135th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh; the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country; the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Mining Region… and that these tasks be specifically outlined in a plan for implementation.

The Provincial Association of Literature and Arts needs to focus on finalizing the Project "Development of Literature and Arts in Quang Ninh Province giai đoạn 2024-2030"; the Project "Reorganizing the Literature and Arts Associations into the Quang Ninh Provincial Federation of Literature and Arts Associations"; and the Project for organizing the Congress of the Quang Ninh Provincial Association of Literature and Arts for the term 2024-2029.

At the same time, the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts needs to continue strengthening the organization of cultural events in remote areas, border regions, and islands; conduct serious scientific research on the province's art forms; and coordinate with relevant agencies to research, build, and establish the Quang Ninh Theater. In particular, it should strengthen its understanding of the ideological situation of artists and members, contributing to building a clean and strong Association.

The comrade also instructed the Department of Culture and Sports to promptly develop a Resolution on mechanisms and policies related to awarding prize money for arts and culture competitions at all levels and internationally; mechanisms and policies for folk artisans and artists in the mining region…

Regarding some proposals from the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts as well as artists, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stated that in the coming time, the provincial leadership will focus on resolving difficulties in creative activities and building appropriate incentive policies to inspire new creativity among artists.
