In mathematics, Hanoi , Hai Phong, and Ho Chi Minh City are the three localities with the highest number of perfect scores (10/10) nationwide. Specifically, Hanoi has 93 papers, Hai Phong has 53 papers, and Ho Chi Minh City has 43 papers that achieved the perfect score in mathematics.

Meanwhile, Ninh Binh , Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City are the three localities with the highest average scores in mathematics nationwide.

For English, the score distribution is as follows:

In the English exam, only 2 papers received a score of 0, while 141 papers received a perfect score of 10.

According to the announcement, Hanoi has overtaken Ho Chi Minh City in terms of average English scores and perfect scores (10/10) in this subject in this year's high school graduation exam. Previously, Ho Chi Minh City had led the country in average English scores for eight consecutive years.

The 2025 high school graduation exam took place on June 26th and 27th with approximately 1.1 million candidates. Candidates following the new general education program, in addition to the two compulsory subjects of mathematics and literature, chose two subjects they had studied in the curriculum. Nearly 353,000 candidates chose English as an optional subject. Ho Chi Minh City had the highest number of candidates nationwide choosing English as an optional subject.
