To date, the entire province has planted over 40.5 million trees (exceeding the assigned target), contributing to creating an additional "green shield," developing sustainable forestry, preventing natural disasters, improving the ecological environment, and promoting socio -economic development in the province.
Walking along the village roads of Dray Bhăng commune today, one easily notices the refreshing green landscape: a row of newly planted trees lining the inter-village road, a few young saplings in front of the school gate, carefully tended trees at community gathering points... This greenness is being created day by day, thanks to the hands of youth union members and the consensus of the local people.
In Dray Bhăng, the tree-planting movement is not just a short-term endeavor, but is nurtured and inspected regularly to replace weak trees, replenish broken branches, and improve barren land so that new trees can take root. From small holes in the ground along the roadside, a "promise" is reminded among the young people: planting trees must be accompanied by caring for them, only then will the results be preserved.
Speaking about this approach, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dray Bhang commune and Secretary of the Youth Union of Dray Bhang commune, said: "In recent times, the Youth Union of Dray Bhang commune has extensively implemented the green tree planting movement, linked with building new rural areas and protecting the environment. From 2021 to 2025, the Youth Union of the commune has coordinated with branches and volunteer forces to plant more than 1,000 new trees along rural roads, residential areas, schools, and locations affected by natural disasters."

Simultaneously, attention has been paid to caring for, protecting, and ensuring the sustainable growth of trees, resulting in the creation of many green, clean, and beautiful roads. These achievements have significantly improved the environmental landscape and raised awareness among union members and residents regarding environmental protection. At the same time, they have spread the proactive spirit of young people in responding to climate change. The tree-planting movement not only has practical significance for community life but also creates a foundation for the commune to continue maintaining a healthy and sustainable living environment in the future…
Besides providing shade and beautifying village roads and alleys, the tree planting movement in many localities is also closely linked to the livelihoods of the people. Mr. Cu Manh Vuong, Head of Ea Han village (Yang Mao commune), shared: “Ea Han village currently has 250 households, whose livelihoods are mainly linked to forest planting (acacia trees) and coffee cultivation. Thanks to maintaining stable production, the lives of the people have seen many positive changes in recent years; the economy is gradually improving…”.
According to the report of the People's Committee of Dak Lak province on the results of the implementation of the "Planting One Billion Trees Project in the period 2021-2025", the total number of trees planted in concentrated and scattered forests in the province during this period reached more than 40.57 million trees. To achieve the objectives of the Project, Dak Lak not only utilizes state budget funds but also promotes social mobilization and integrates various programs and projects. According to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thien Van, in recent years, forest management and protection in general, and reforestation and tree planting in particular, have been actively supported and participated in by all levels of government, agencies, departments, organizations, businesses, and the people of the province. This includes financial and seedling support from many businesses inside and outside the province; and the enthusiastic participation and labor contributions from many agencies, organizations, households, and individuals in the province…
In addition, the province has effectively integrated programs such as: the Sustainable Forestry Development Program for the period 2021-2025; national target programs; and urban infrastructure development projects, industrial parks, and transportation projects… that include tree planting, creating a synchronized "greening" network from urban to rural areas.
As a result, the total resources mobilized for afforestation and tree planting in the province during the 2021-2025 period reached over 580 billion VND, including approximately 27 billion VND from the State budget, over 280.14 billion VND from social mobilization, and nearly 273 billion VND from other sources…
