In line with its commitment to developing social insurance and health insurance, Phu Tan district has built many effective models to support disadvantaged households in accessing insurance.

Typically, Binh Thanh Dong commune implements the "Sharing Healthcare for the People" model, spreading humanitarian values ​​within the community by jointly donating health insurance cards to people and students in difficult circumstances, reducing the cost of medical examinations and treatment.

Given the rising cost of health insurance, the local authorities recognized the practicality of this model for disadvantaged people and students. Cadres and Party members took the lead in voluntarily contributing to the model, while also mobilizing additional support from philanthropists both within and outside the locality to secure sufficient resources. Initially, the model supports people aged 60-79, and later aims to "boost" the purchase of health insurance for disadvantaged students at the beginning of the school year.

After one year, the "Sharing Healthcare for the People" model has proven effective in raising the morale and sense of responsibility of all officials, civil servants, party members, businesses, and social organizations working together to implement it. To date, Binh Thanh Dong commune has received 74 health insurance cards for 11 residents and 63 students, totaling nearly 32.8 million VND. The fundraising efforts are continuing to support the remaining needy individuals and share the risks for the poor when they are sick or hospitalized.

Communicating insurance policies in residential areas.

By the end of April 2025, Phu Tan district had over 152,700 people participating in health insurance; over 6,000 people participating in social insurance, including 1,275 people participating in voluntary social insurance. In 2025, the district aims to increase the number of voluntary social insurance participants by 933 and the number of health insurance participants by 13,843. The Phu Tan District Social Insurance Office organized a launching ceremony for the 2025 Universal Social Insurance Campaign Month, themed "Memories of Victory - A Journey to Social Security".

The goal for May alone is for the entire district to mobilize and recruit at least 100 new participants in voluntary social insurance and 500 new participants in family health insurance. This is not just a quantitative criterion, but also a commitment to the quality of activities and the sustainability of participation, enhancing people's understanding of social insurance and health insurance. Participating in health insurance not only helps reduce the financial burden of medical examinations and treatment, but also creates a community that shares difficulties together.

Deputy Chairman of Phu Tan District People's Committee, Tang Van Ne, emphasized that the National Social Insurance Month (May) is not just a simple communication activity, but also a journey to spread the profound humanitarian values ​​of social security policies. The activities focus on demonstrating strong political determination to realize the goal of universal social insurance in accordance with the Party and State's guidelines. The focus is on mobilizing people to participate in voluntary social insurance and family health insurance through various rich, diverse, and creative forms.

In recent days, communes and towns have been organizing mobile propaganda campaigns, distributing leaflets, providing direct consultations in residential areas, holding customer conferences, and organizing thematic communication sessions… Following the motto “going to every alley, knocking on every door, reaching every individual,” the peak period continues to target farmers, self-employed workers, and those without health insurance. In particular, they provide clear and in-depth advice on insurance policies so that people understand the necessity of participating in insurance, expanding the social security network, and ensuring stability and happiness for the whole society.

To encourage active participation, the Social Insurance agency also applies gift-giving and voucher accumulation for subsequent participations; leveraging digital platforms and social media to spread awareness and act as a bridge to bring the humane policies of the Party and State to the people.
