Throughout Ramadan, Muslims practice fasting, prayer, virtuous conduct, self-cultivation, and spiritual purification, while also increasing sharing and helping those in need. These noble human values not only have profound religious significance but also contribute to fostering a healthy, compassionate, and responsible lifestyle in society.

Mr. Haji Jacky, Head of the Cham Islam Community Representative Board of the province, shared: “Ramadan is a month of love, where believers of all ages fast during the day to cultivate their minds and character, and to understand the hunger and thirst of the poor. This is a practical way to train oneself to become a good believer and a useful citizen.”

Visiting Chau Phong commune in the early days of Ramadan, we clearly felt the joy spreading through every stilt house. Mr. Sa Le, a long-time local believer, said that Ramadan begins on February 17, 2026. The greatest meaning of the 30 days of fasting is sharing. When he and his family are a little more financially comfortable, they are always willing to share necessities with the poor in the neighborhood. "During Ramadan, we believers are very happy. Therefore, everyone strives to fulfill their responsibilities as believers," Mr. Sa Le expressed.

An Giang is a province with diverse ethnic groups and religions, among which the Cham Muslim community is an inseparable part, deeply rooted in this land for generations. Throughout history, the Cham Muslim community in the province has always been united, hardworking, and dedicated to preserving their traditional cultural identity. They have also actively participated in social activities, making significant contributions to socio -economic development, maintaining security and order, and strengthening national unity.

According to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Phuoc: "Ramadan is a month of faith, patience, tolerance, and charity. These values are entirely consistent with the fine cultural traditions of our nation, where religions coexist harmoniously, accompanying the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland."

Over the past year, the Cham Muslim community in An Giang has written beautiful stories of mutual support and compassion. According to Mr. Haji Jacky, in 2025, the Cham Muslim community in An Giang will closely coordinate with local Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, and mass organizations to care for the lives of the people. The total amount of money raised from benefactors both domestically and internationally is over 6.9 billion VND.

These resources were concretized into practical gifts for poor households, support for orphaned children and impoverished patients, and the construction of sturdy solidarity houses. In the first two months of 2026, the Provincial Cham Islam Community Representative Board, in coordination with Sity Hara followers, mobilized Phuc Ngoc Fishmeal Company to donate 200 gift packages and, in collaboration with the Hasene Association, donated an additional 1,100 gift packages and 100 bicycles to poor students, totaling over 1.1 billion VND.

The dynamism of young people like Sity Hara is proof that compassion is being continuously passed on. They don't just live for themselves, but always reach out to the vulnerable and those lacking material resources, working together to perform acts of kindness during Ramadan.

An Giang is on the path of renewal and integration, and the spirit of solidarity among ethnic groups and religions is becoming increasingly important. The local government is always committed to respecting and guaranteeing the right to freedom of religion, creating the most favorable conditions for the Cham Muslim community to practice their religion stably and in accordance with the law. Mr. Le Van Phuoc believes that the close relationship between the government and the Cham Muslim community in An Giang will be further strengthened, for the common goal of building a civilized and compassionate An Giang homeland.

"With the motto 'good life, beautiful faith,' the Cham Islam community in An Giang province always unites, stays close, and works alongside the nation and local authorities to effectively carry out social welfare work, contributing to building a more prosperous and beautiful An Giang homeland," said Mr. Haji Jacky, Head of the Representative Board of the Cham Islam Community in An Giang province.
