High labor demand
These days, job postings are plastered all over the gates of businesses. Companies are not only recruiting directly but also partnering with employment service centers and local authorities to organize job fairs, and displaying banners at intersections and markets to attract attention.

In Thanh Loc Industrial Park, recruitment demand is high. Nguyen Van Tuan, General Director of Thai Binh Kien Giang Joint Stock Company, stated: “In 2026, the company needs to recruit an additional 1,000 workers to reach 4,600 by the end of the year. The company is currently expanding production due to continuously receiving large orders from new customers. We offer attractive salaries ranging from 6.5 to 10 million VND per month or more, along with benefits such as insurance, allowances, and annual health check-ups, but we still haven't recruited enough workers.”
In Binh An commune, an area renowned for its seafood processing factories, the atmosphere in mid-May was bustling with activity. However, instead of the usual busy production lines with sufficient manpower, many businesses were struggling with labor shortages. Ms. Nguyen Hang Nga, representative of Quang Phu Seafood Import-Export Co., Ltd. in Binh An commune, stated: “Currently, the company needs to recruit 400 workers, with a starting salary of 7-12 million VND/month/person, along with many benefits for long-term employees. We urgently need to recruit 200 unskilled laborers to meet the deadline for export orders.”
Many offers
According to many businesses, this is a period of accelerated growth, so the demand for labor recruitment from now until the end of the year is quite high. Notably, not only skilled workers but also unskilled laborers are not as abundant as before. To attract candidates and retain employees, many companies are changing their recruitment methods. Businesses are not only displaying banners and announcements on social media but are also focusing on recruitment through internal referrals among workers. Thai Binh Kien Giang Joint Stock Company applies a policy where each person who refers a new worker receives 3 million VND/new worker, divided into 6 installments. When the new worker works the required number of days and does not violate company regulations, the referrer receives 500,000 VND. New workers who work without violations and complete the required number of days, in addition to their salary, also receive a support payment of 1.2 million VND, divided into 3 installments.
Mr. Tran Nhut Huy, residing in Chau Thanh commune, is also recruiting workers for delivery and goods handling tasks, receiving orders and delivering within the assigned area, with salaries ranging from 7 to 15 million VND per month. According to Mr. Huy, the nature of the delivery job requires unskilled labor and basic training; workers only need a vehicle and a phone for delivery work.
Hwaseung Rach Gia Company, a large-scale manufacturer specializing in sports shoes for export, is seeking general laborers to meet delivery deadlines. New employees will receive a salary of 5.7 - 6.75 million VND per month, along with various benefits such as regular health check-ups, holiday bonuses, and referral bonuses. The company also provides support for new employees, basic allowances, and job-related allowances.
In reality, businesses cannot compete solely on wages; they must also focus on improving the working environment and corporate culture. The labor shortage in Thanh Loc Industrial Park and Binh An commune is evidence of a promising economic recovery, but it also serves as a warning about changes in the labor market structure. As workers have more choices, businesses are forced to become more attractive. This is no longer a matter for any one individual, but a necessary link between business policies, local support, and the legitimate rights of workers.
