According to Digital Foundry, PlayStation 5 Pro is expected to be launched with 45% more powerful GPU performance than the original, enough to resolve all lag and degraded image quality that often occur in video games. Games rely heavily on the GPU, especially games that use Dynamic Resolution Scaling technology strongly.
Experts at Digital Foundry have analyzed the specifications of the upgraded PlayStation 5 in detail and predicted the improvements that the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) and Ultra Boost Mode features could bring. Thanks to this, many games will benefit right from launch, without any intervention from the developer.
Typically, games that use AMD FSR 2 actively like Star Wars Jedi Survivor, Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth , and Final Fantasy XVI (these games currently have quite blurry image quality in Performance Mode), Immortals of Aveum, and all games with VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) mode like God of war ragnarok, Spider-Man 2 by Insomniac, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, The Last of Us: Part I , and The Last of Us Part II Remastered by Naughty Dog.
For games that do not use Dynamic Resolution Scaling technology and can already run smoothly at a frame rate of 30 or 60 FPS, the two technologies PSSR and Ultra Boost Mode will not bring any significant improvements. These games will likely require a separate patch for PlayStation 5 Pro to take advantage of the device's upgraded hardware.
Currently, Sony has not officially announced PlayStation 5 Pro. However, with rumors of a launch before the end of this year, the device's official launch date may not be far away.
