During his official presentation in Monaco on July 3rd, Fati said: “It feels unbelievable to be playing alongside a player as influential as Pogba. I’ve admired Pogba since I was a child. My friends all consider him an idol. Sharing a dressing room with Pogba is a great honor.”
Fati also expressed his delight at seeing Pogba back on the pitch after a long absence due to injury and suspension. “Everyone knows Pogba is a fantastic player,” Fati affirmed. “I’m very happy for him and so is the football world . Pogba has been a huge star over the years, both for his club and his national team. We hope to have a great season together.”
Fati joined Monaco on a loan deal with an option to buy for €11 million. Both Fati and Pogba are looking for an opportunity to revive their careers in Ligue 1.
Fati endured difficult seasons battling injuries at Brighton and Barcelona, while Pogba has been sidelined for almost a year due to fitness issues and a suspension for doping.
The pairing of Fati and Pogba is a bold move in Monaco's strategy, as the French club aims to compete for the Ligue 1 title and progress deep into the UEFA Champions League.
