Zabarnyi has joined PSG. |
On the evening of August 8th, journalist Fabrizio Romano announced that Bournemouth had accepted PSG's €67 million offer for Zabarnyi. The Ukrainian international had reached a personal agreement with the Champions League winners in mid-July.
Zabarnyi has agreed to a five-year contract with PSG, with his salary yet to be disclosed. PSG rushed to recruit and conduct a medical examination for Zabarnyi ahead of the UEFA Super Cup match against Tottenham on August 14th.
Milan Skriniar's departure in the summer of 2025 prompted PSG to quickly intensify their search for a right-footed center-back, and Zabarnyi was the ideal choice. In the 2024/25 Premier League season, Zabarnyi was a key player in Bournemouth's squad and did not miss a single minute.
Before Zabarnyi, PSG also signed goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier from Lille for nearly 40 million euros. The French club is having difficulty renewing the contract of their number one goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
According to L'Equipe , Chevalier and Zabarnyi will be the final two pieces of the puzzle for PSG this summer, as coach Luis Enrique is satisfied with the other positions in the midfield and attack. Currently, PSG will focus on offloading players who are no longer in their plans.
