Lee Kang-in and his teammates are on the verge of an undefeated championship. |
After 30 matches played in Ligue 1, PSG remains undefeated. Luis Enrique's team is just four games away from securing an unbeaten championship.
In the history of the French men's football championship, no club has ever won the title undefeated. This has only happened in the women's league, where Lyon and PSG have both finished the season without a single loss.
The first undefeated championship in the history of the PSG men's team is entirely within the reach of coach Enrique's team, as their opponents in the remaining four rounds are not considered too strong (Nice, Strasbourg, Montpellier and Auxerre).
At the Beaujoire stadium, reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain showed their determination to make history, but faced fierce resistance from a Nantes side fighting to avoid relegation.
After a relatively tight first half, PSG opened the scoring in the 31st minute with a beautiful finish from Vitinha, assisted by Kang-In Lee. The defending champions nearly scored a second when João Neves unleashed a dangerous volley, but goalkeeper Patrik Carlgren made an excellent save.
In the second half, Nantes played with great effort and had several clear chances. Although Donnarumma played solidly in goal for PSG, in the 83rd minute, Douglas Augusto unleashed a powerful shot to equalize for the home team, earning a valuable point in the relegation battle.
With this draw, PSG extended their unbeaten away run to 39 matches (30 wins, 9 draws). As for Nantes, they temporarily escaped the relegation zone with four points more than the relegation play-off position, with many challenges still ahead in the season.
