The project "Strengthening resilience to the impacts of climate change for vulnerable coastal communities in Ca Mau province" has 3 components including: Support for building houses to withstand storms and floods; planting mangrove forests; natural disaster risk information and data.

Regarding the support component of building houses to withstand storms and floods, up to now, the whole province has 433 poor households living on the coast and near the coast who are eligible to receive support to build houses (each house is worth 80 million VND). ) in 24 communes in 6 districts.
Houses built must meet the 3 hard criteria of the Ministry of Construction including: hard foundation, hard frame, hard roof, minimum area of 30m2 or more. For single-parent households, the minimum area is 18m2 or more. Expected completion time is mid-July 7.
Speaking at the conference, affirming that this is a humanitarian project to support housing for poor households in coastal communes, Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Le Van Su directed districts and communes with beneficiary people to focus on faithfully perform the tasks so that the component is completed according to the proposed plan. "This is a very good opportunity to take care of the poor, so it must be implemented with the highest sense of responsibility so that poor and near-poor people can best enjoy the benefits the project brings," Mr. Le Van History emphasized.
Mr. Le Van Su also requested the Project Management Board to actively advise the competent authority to direct more closely during the component implementation process; Conduct a review of beneficiaries of support. On the part of the People's Committees of districts, it is necessary to pay attention to directing the People's Committees of communes to best carry out their responsibilities for the component; Review the beneficiaries and take responsibility for the review results.
Leaders of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province also requested the People's Committees of the communes to implement the component with a high sense of responsibility; Mobilize the participation of Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and youth unions to participate in supporting component implementation; At the same time, assign staff to be in charge of monitoring from start to completion of the houses.
