On the night of December 31st, the moment of transition between the old year and the new year, thousands of locals and tourists flocked to Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, the center of Quy Nhon coastal city, immersing themselves in the vibrant and colorful festive atmosphere.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province, the Gia Lai Countdown 2026 program will take place from 8:30 PM to midnight on December 31st, and will be held simultaneously at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square (in Quy Nhon Ward) and Dai Doan Ket Square (in Pleiku Ward).

From late afternoon onwards, the roads leading to the square, such as Nguyen Tat Thanh, Xuan Dieu, and An Duong Vuong, were packed with people.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Nam (34 years old, Quy Nhon Ward) said this was the first time his family had come to Nguyen Tat Thanh Square to celebrate the New Year. "The atmosphere here is very warm and lively. Seeing everyone celebrating together, I feel even more love for the land I live in and hope for a peaceful and prosperous new year," Mr. Nam shared.

Over the past few days, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province has been preparing a New Year's Eve countdown program for 2026 with a modern sound and lighting system. The main stage at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square (Quy Nhon Ward) has been extensively invested in, offering a series of vibrant music and dance performances.
The program featured many artists, including singer Kyo York with familiar songs such as Happy New Year, Hello Vietnam, Vietnam Journeys …, attracting enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Gia Lai Countdown 2026 is taking place in a special context, as the locality is simultaneously striving to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and urgently preparing to host the National Tourism Year 2026. Therefore, the program is not just a night of music and entertainment, but also conveys a message about the will to overcome difficulties, the spirit of unity, and the aspiration for sustainable development of the Gia Lai region.
