Attracting visitors with its tranquility
In early 2026, at the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2026 (ATF) in the Philippines, Quy Nhon was once again recognized as an “ASEAN Clean Tourism City,” marking its third time receiving this title. Simultaneously, several prestigious international travel websites such as Lonely Planet and Tripadvisor honored Quy Nhon as one of the top 25 trending destinations in the world in 2026. This is not simply an award or title; it is the result of a long process of effort to preserve the living and tourism environment, as well as building the image of a friendly, safe, and sustainable destination. While many tourist cities are developing rapidly but facing the pressure of overcrowding, Quy Nhon has chosen a slower but more steady approach.
What makes international tourists remember Quy Nhon starts with the little things. It's the pristine blue beach stretching right in the heart of the city, the clean and airy coastal roads, the early mornings when fishermen return from their fishing trips, or the afternoons when groups of people leisurely stroll along the sandy shore. The air is fresh, the people are friendly, and the pace of life isn't too hectic.

Mr. David Nguyen (a tourist from Australia) shared that he was truly impressed with the balance of Quy Nhon. It offers just the right amount of amenities for tourism while maintaining a rare tranquility. According to him, it is one of the rare destinations that still retains the "authentic feel" of a Vietnamese city. This "authenticity" is not only found in the landscape but also in daily life. Tourists can easily spot children playing on the beach, small roadside cafes, or hear the innocent "Hello" greetings from the locals.
Juliet (a Swiss tourist) said that what she enjoyed most was walking around the city, observing daily life, and even playing volleyball with local children. These simple experiences became cherished memories.
In the broader context of Vietnamese tourism, Gia Lai is gradually asserting its position. In the first two months of the year, the province welcomed approximately 2.2 million visitors, a 14% increase compared to the same period last year; international visitors alone are estimated at 42,000, a 68% increase. Within this picture, Quy Nhon stands out as a popular choice for many tourists seeking something different.
Mel Downs (a tourist from Vermont, USA) chose Quy Nhon as his ideal winter getaway. He stayed there for months, escaping the harsh cold of his homeland and enjoying the warm climate. For him, Quy Nhon was like an "eternal summer," a place not only to rest but also to live.
Mel's story is not unique. More and more international tourists are choosing Quy Nhon, not only staying longer than planned but also returning multiple times. This shows a new trend: tourism is not just about sightseeing, but also about experiencing and connecting. And Quy Nhon, with its inherent natural and human values, is meeting that need.
Focusing on quality and experience
Besides its advantageous coastal scenery, this city is also gradually diversifying its tourism products. Destinations such as Eo Gió, Kỳ Co, and Thị Nại Lagoon are becoming increasingly popular.

It's not only attractive for its beauty but also connected to experiential activities. Tourists can participate in fishing village tours, learn about traditional fishing methods, enjoy seafood right at the dock, or explore the cultural and historical values of the region. Instead of being isolated, tourists "live with" the local environment, thus creating more authentic experiences. This is also a direction that aligns with the sustainable tourism trend that many countries are pursuing.
It can be said that in the journey of bringing Quy Nhon to the world, it's not just about promotional strategies or infrastructure investment, but also the significant role played by tourists themselves. Their shared experiences, stories, and photos after their trips are the most natural and effective "communication channel."
Julie de Filipp (a French tourist) said she would definitely "recommend Quy Nhon to her family and friends. Not with flowery words, but with her genuine feelings about a peaceful land and friendly people." Such introductions, seemingly simple, have a very strong impact.
From another perspective, this also offers insights into the future development of tourism in Quy Nhon. It involves continuing to preserve the core values that have made it attractive, while simultaneously improving service quality, diversifying products, and strengthening connectivity. The focus should be on quality and experience, rather than quantity.
Quy Nhon may not be the most famous destination, but it's a place that many people want to return to.
A tranquil seaside city, a peaceful pace of life, and people always ready to welcome you with a smile. And perhaps, it is these smiles, these simple stories… that are the most special “travel passports,” helping Quy Nhon gradually step out into the world.
