The Acting President stated that over the past 30 years, the WB has accompanied and provided practical support in Vietnam's innovation process. For Vietnam, the WB is one of the three largest development partners and providers of foreign loans. Those loan sources are distributed in many different fields, implementing many highly effective projects, contributing to improving and enhancing people's lives.
In particular, during her term in Vietnam, Ms. Carolyn Turk actively promoted cooperation between Vietnam and the World Bank; including very meaningful activities such as: Postponing quick repayment of loans; have initiatives to support countries in preventing and combating Covid-19; providing non-refundable aid to help Vietnam overcome the pandemic and restore socio-economic development; Mobilizing resources for Vietnam's development investment...
The Acting President hopes that, with deep affection and concern for Vietnam, no matter what position she holds, Ms. Carolyn Turk will continue to contribute her voice to the WB to implement the commitments between the two countries. beside. The Acting President proposed that in the coming time, the WB continue to cooperate closely and support Vietnam in the development process; helping Vietnam implement national key, large-scale projects in the fields of transportation infrastructure, urban areas, renewable energy, smart agriculture, climate change response... Besides, The WB continues to support non-refundable aid for Vietnam to implement international commitments with the United Nations related to areas such as: peacekeeping, international security, climate change, development sustainable development, ensuring water security, food security...
Emphasizing vulnerable groups, remote areas, women and girls, Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan hopes that in the coming time, Vietnam and the World Bank will have more priority programs and projects. for this target group.
