Rapper MCK surpasses Chi Pu at the WeChoice Awards, sparking outrage among Chinese netizens.

Previously, Chi Pu was the leading nominee for the Inspirational Figure award at the WeChoice Awards 2023.

By the evening of January 19th, MCK had appealed for votes on his personal page: "No more talking, with everything I've done, I don't want to come in second." The rapper also promised a special gift that would be "something good for everyone to enjoy" if he won.

Besides "Inspirational Figure," the rapper is also currently holding the top spot in "Breakthrough Artist/Rapper." His releases have also achieved similar success in the categories of "EP/Album of the Year," "Song of the Year," and "Explosive Collaboration."

However, viewers believe that, given the criteria for the "Inspirational Figure" award, Chi Pu's receiving this title is entirely justified. The rankings are as of now. The WeChoice Awards 2023 officially opened on January 8, 2024. Voting will last from January 8, 2024 to 11:59 PM on January 24, 2024.

Currently, fans of the two young domestic artists are divided into two camps. One side defends the male idol's advantage, arguing that the audience must have felt he deserved it, which is why they spent so much time voting overwhelmingly.
