On talkSPORT , expert Andy Brassell analyzed Rashford's difficulties at Barcelona: "Can Rashford find consistency in playing time to truly rediscover himself at Barcelona? What Rashford needs is regular playing time to regain his form."
Brassell emphasized: "However, at Barcelona – where competition for places is extremely fierce – that prospect is almost impossible. There was never any question of them wanting Rashford to play as a central striker. If Robert Lewandowski is unavailable, Ferran Torres will be chosen. Barcelona is not an ideal destination for Rashford."
Meanwhile, expert Gary Neville - a former Manchester United star - is concerned that Rashford seems to have chosen the wrong destination this summer, joining Barcelona instead of Aston Villa: "I'm afraid he may have chosen the wrong place to go."
Rashford moved to Barcelona this summer on a season-long loan, but his time at Camp Nou has been fraught with difficulties. Despite Barca insisting they have no intention of terminating the loan early, the England striker's unconvincing performances are undeniable.
To date, Rashford has only made three appearances for Barca, without scoring or assisting, and has mostly come on as a substitute. The match against Levante at the Estadio Ciutat de Valencia was his only start.
