According to Fichajes , Real Madrid have put six first-team players on the transfer list, paving the way for a major overhaul. The latest name is Ferland Mendy, after the defender suffered another muscle injury. On March 12th, he played in the 3-0 victory against Man City in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 but again experienced fitness issues.
Besides Mendy, Bild reports that a number of key defenders also face an uncertain future. David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger have both been severely affected by injuries this season. Rudiger has only made 11 appearances in La Liga, while Alaba has yet to regain his form after a ligament injury that has kept him sidelined for nearly 18 months.
