Life skills classes at Moon Talent Center attract a large number of students.

These days, at the Thanh Hoa City Children's Cultural House, summer activities are being carried out enthusiastically with classes on life skills and talents, attracting a large number of students to participate. Ms. Nguyen Thi Cuc, Phu Son Ward, said: "This is the second year my family has let my child participate in dance and singing classes at the Thanh Hoa City Children's Cultural House. When participating in these activities, I see that my child, who was once shy, has become more active, agile and soon revealed his singing talent. From there, I have helped my child give up the habit of frequently using the phone, which greatly affects his health."

To help children develop comprehensively, the Thanh Hoa City Children's Cultural House is organizing training in 18 gifted subjects and life skills for children, with the number of students participating in the course ranging from 600 to 700. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong, Deputy Director in charge of the Thanh Hoa City Children's Cultural House, said: "This year, the number of students registering to study gifted subjects and life skills is higher than the same period in 2024. Here, children can participate and develop their strengths in singing, hip-hop dancing, MCing, and practice teamwork skills. At the same time, they are equipped with practical knowledge and skills to protect themselves, reduce the risk of abuse and injuries."

Not only at the Thanh Hoa City Children's Cultural House, summer is also the time when life skillseducation centers cooperate with related units to organize many learning programs and extracurricular activities for children to experience and "collision" with some situations that occur in life. To meet the summer learning needs of children, Moon Talent Center has opened a second facility at No. 36, Phu Thu Street, Phu Son Ward.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen, Director of Moon Talent Center, said: “With subjects such as music , painting, dance, MC, child modeling, martial arts, kickboxing, Moon Talent Center aims at the comprehensive physical and mental development of school-age children. At the same time, we educate life skills for children through organizing extracurricular activities. Thereby, helping them develop comprehensively, become more confident and independent in life.”

Life is increasingly modern, along with traditional content, many centers also invest in facilities, focusing on integrating life skills through the application of technology into teaching, such as guiding children to get acquainted with TIC robots, basic programming and creative group activities. The application of technology in teaching life skills helps children become more interested in learning, thereby developing logical thinking, communication skills, and teamwork. This is an ideal environment for children to develop comprehensively in terms of intelligence, technology and life skills.

Summer vacation is a good opportunity for comprehensive education for children, especially life skills. However, in order for children to have a useful summer vacation, learn more knowledge and skills to be more proactive and confident in life, it is necessary to have the attention and guidance from the smallest things of parents. Because this is the time when children stay at home more, parents need to be close to and practice life skills for their children from communication to daily chores at home such as: cooking, cleaning the house, behaving with relatives, neighbors, caring and helping people living around.
