The "Full Moon Shining on Dreams" program is an annual activity of the Quang Ninh Museum, in collaboration with the National Museum of History, aimed at preserving and spreading traditional cultural values; and at the same time creating a beneficial playground and a meaningful space for children to play and learn.
From folk tales and games to products made by the children themselves, the festival contributed to nurturing love for their homeland, enriching their souls and dreams amidst the full moon of the eighth lunar month.
The "Full Moon Shining on Dreams" festival takes place in a vibrant setting filled with colorful lanterns and star-shaped lights. It begins with a dazzling lantern procession, followed by lion and dragon dances, magic shows, musical performances, and a reenactment of the story of Cuoi and Hang, transporting children back to a fairytale world .
The highlight of the evening was the hands-on activities, where children got to make mooncakes, star-shaped lanterns, traditional lanterns, and paint papier-mâché masks – familiar folk toys that hold significant educational and creative value.
Interspersed throughout the program was a quiz with prizes, helping the children learn more about the meaning of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the customs of carrying lanterns, and enjoying the feast in Vietnam.
The appeal of this year's "Full Moon Shining on Dreams" program is evident as many agencies, organizations, and schools simultaneously registered to participate, creating an opportunity for hundreds of children to immerse themselves in and experience the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere at the Quang Ninh Museum.
