Ru Cha - the most romantic destination in Hue.

HeritageHeritage18/12/2023

Located about 15km east of Hue city is the pristine primary forest called Ru Cha, part of the Tam Giang lagoon system, in Huong Phong commune, Hue city.
Tam Giang is considered one of the largest brackish lagoons in Southeast Asia. In this mangrove area, the mangrove tree thrives, covering up to 90% of the forest area. Therefore, the rustic name "Ru Cha" (Mangrove Forest) was given to this region because the locals call the forest "ru" (mountain). In spring and summer, the lush green mangrove forest covers approximately 5 hectares of mangrove land. The cool, pleasant air is the most noticeable thing when you set foot here.
As autumn arrives, the changing colors of the foliage transform Ru Cha into one of the most romantic destinations in Hue. If you want to experience the wild beauty and immerse yourself in the captivating golden hues of autumn, visit Ru Cha from late September to October. At this time, the primeval forest is awash in the golden and red colors of flowers and leaves, and the atmosphere is tranquil, typical of a place with minimal tourist activity.
Visitors can stroll along the small path under the interwoven canopy of trees to admire the foliage and the shimmering rays of sunlight that make the autumn scene even more vibrant.
The most popular way to explore Ru Cha is by sitting in a small wooden boat, weaving through the large mangrove clusters. The deeper you go, the more captivating the autumn scenery becomes, with its gentle landscape and tranquil atmosphere.
Perhaps the only sounds heard are the birdsong and glimpses of fish fleetingly appearing and disappearing beneath the water's surface, for Ru Cha is home to thousands of species of plants and animals. A gentle breeze rustles through the branches and leaves. The chirping of birds, the chirping of insects, and the sounds of aquatic animals create a serene symphony that nonetheless exudes the vibrant life of the forest.
Occasionally, visitors may also witness scenes of local fishermen casting their nets. Protecting and maintaining the richness of the ecosystem in Ru Cha has created an abundant source of aquatic resources for the local residents.
While Rú Chá was previously little-known, in recent years its enchanting golden autumn scenery has captivated many photographers, causing images of the place to spread widely and attracting more and more visitors.
The roads have been upgraded and renovated, and a small observation deck has been built to please tourists who want to admire the panoramic view of Ru Cha from above. At every sunset or sunrise, it's a feast for the eyes to see the entire Ru Cha landscape spread out like a golden carpet, with each shade of yellow changing as the sun rises or sets.
