Sea turtles are stranded and washed ashore on Mui Ne beach.

While fishing along the coast of Mui Ne (Lam Dong province), local fishermen discovered a large, old, and exhausted sea turtle washed ashore on the afternoon of October 17th.

Accordingly, the turtle was about 1.5 meters long, weighed over 100 kg, and had its shell covered with many oyster and clam shells. When discovered, the turtle was exhausted and lying motionless.

Dozens of fishermen then brought the turtle ashore, embalmed it, covered it with red cloth, beat drums and gongs, and held a funeral according to folk rituals at the Ba Vang Temple Cemetery.

Fishermen in Mui Ne bring the turtle ashore and bury it according to local customs.

According to local custom, when large whales or sea turtles are stranded on the shore, fishermen give them a respectful burial.
