Producing counterfeit goods, Director of Tuan Duong & TKT Bird's Nest Company was prosecuted

Phu Tho Provincial Police have just issued a decision to prosecute the criminal case and prosecute the Director of Tuan Duong & TKT Bird's Nest Company Limited for the crime of "Producing and trading in counterfeit food, foodstuffs, and food additives".

Previously, on June 7, Market Management Team No. 7, Phu Tho Provincial Market Management Department coordinated with the Economic Police Department, Provincial Police and Market Management Team No. 4 to suddenly inspect the production and trading activities of Tuan Duong & TKT Salanganes Nest Company Limited, located at No. 56, Phu Gia Street, Thanh Son Town, former Thanh Son District and the Company's business location at No. 1941, Hung Vuong Street, Gia Cam Ward, former Viet Tri City.

At the time of inspection, the company was producing and trading products processed from stewed bird's nest. By means of professional measures, collecting documents, records, and evidence, Market Management Team No. 7 discovered that the processed stewed bird's nest products of Tuan Duong & TKT Bird's Nest Company Limited showed signs of not ensuring quality compared to the self-declared product. The team decided to temporarily detain 23,468 units of processed stewed bird's nest products; took samples and sent them to competent authorities to test the indicators according to the self-declared product.

According to the test results, all 8 samples of bird's nest did not meet the main quality standards compared to the self-declared product of Tuan Duong & TKT Bird's Nest Company Limited. Based on this result, Market Management Team No. 7 determined that more than 23,000 bird's nest products previously seized by the company were counterfeit goods, the value of the infringing goods was determined to be more than 900 million VND. Market Management Team No. 7 transferred the entire case file and infringing evidence to the Economic Police Department, Provincial Police for investigation and handling according to regulations.

During the investigation process, collecting and verifying specific documents and evidence, the Investigation Police Agency of Phu Tho Provincial Police has completed the file and issued a Decision to prosecute the criminal case and prosecute the accused Bui Minh Quyet - Director of Tuan Duong & TKT Bird's Nest Company Limited for the crime of "Producing and trading in counterfeit goods such as food, foodstuffs, and food additives" as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 193 of the Penal Code.
