"Independence Star": A moving program that evokes patriotism.

On the evening of August 25th, the 2024 Independence Star art program (9th year), themed "Uncle Ho's Words - The Words of the Nation," took place at the Grand Theatre in Hanoi .

This event commemorates the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2024), National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024), and the Traditional Day of the People's Public Security Force (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2024). It is organized by the Editorial Board of the Communist Magazine, the Party Committee of the Central Public Security - Ministry of Public Security , in coordination with the Hanoi City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee, and the Nhan Dan Newspaper.

The program features outstanding artistic content, portraying the noble cultural and historical values ​​of patriotism and the indomitable will of many generations of heroic Vietnamese people in the struggle, construction, and protection of the nation's independence under the glorious leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam .

The program evokes the glorious memories of the nation, the glorious pages of history written with blood, sacrifice, and struggle of the entire Party, army, and people, exemplified by the shining examples of revolutionary pioneers and heroes of the people's armed forces on all fronts.

With a running time of 80 minutes, the 2024 Independent Stars program is directed and written by artist Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh. It is a magnificent musical drama, consisting of an opening performance titled "Vietnam in Brilliant Springs" and three subsequent acts.

Choreographer Tuyet Minh said that when she accepted the role of general director of "Independent Stars ," she determined that this was a political art program, so the requirements regarding history, topicality, and artistic elements had to be subtly and harmoniously blended on stage.

Tuyết Minh shared that historical figures such as President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap, Minister Tran Quoc Hoan, Director of the Security Department Hoang Huu Khang, and especially the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, along with the Saigon special forces security officers who sacrificed their lives during the Tet Offensive of 1968, have been vividly portrayed through the messages conveyed through the political work of special figures such as General Nguyen Quyet; Minister of Public Security - Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang; and Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Magazine - Associate Professor, Doctor Le Hai Binh.

"The artists performed timeless works on stage as a tribute to national liberation heroes, heroic Vietnamese mothers, and previous generations... The songs were very majestic and moving, bringing special emotions to the audience," choreographer Tuyet Minh said.

Accordingly, the Independent Star program also left a lasting impression on the audience with its presentation of invaluable materials quoted from articles by the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong published in the Communist Magazine, along with a grand panorama depicting the country's landscape.

The program interwoven documentaries and artistic performances, including stirring revolutionary songs and elaborately staged, impressive musical dramas such as: "August 19th," "As if Uncle Ho were present on the day of great victory," "A tour of Vietnam," "The Song in the Pac Bo Forest," "People of Hanoi," "Red Leaves," "The Country on the Shore of Waves," the marching song of the Saigon Special Forces Security Soldier, the epic poem "Uncle Ho's Words - The Words of the Nation "... conveying messages about national strength and indomitable will in each stage of the revolution of our army and people.

The audience also had the opportunity to listen to two songs composed specifically for the program by author Tuyet Minh: the marching song "Saigon Security Commando Soldier ," paying tribute to the outstanding sons and daughters of Mother Vietnam who dedicated their entire lives to the Fatherland during the Tet Offensive in 1968.

And the epic poem commemorating the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, " The Words of Uncle Ho - The Words of the Nation," resonated, bringing tears to the eyes of everyone present.

The show features many beloved singers such as Dao Mac, Hong Nhung, Kim Long, Khac Tiep, Ngoc Hieu, Le Tuan… along with theatrical and dance artists such as Meritorious Artists Tran Lin, Anh Hoa, Quang Khai, Cao Chi Thanh; dancers Ha Nhi, Quang Bach, Thuy Hien; circus artist Duc Thinh…

Within the framework of the program, the Organizing Committee presented meaningful gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, veteran revolutionaries, heroes of the People's Armed Forces, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, and labor heroes of the đổi mới (renovation) period.
