The Yamaha Motoroid 2 is enhanced with a rollable swingarm design, self-balancing capabilities, and AI-powered facial recognition.
The Yamaha Motoroid 2 is coming soon.
The vehicle features an electric motor mounted on the rear wheel, which drives the centrally located axle via a swingarm. A pivot point beneath the seat allows the swingarm and rear wheel structure to tilt independently of the rest of the vehicle.
The battery pack, mounted directly beneath the seat, can rotate to provide effective balance for the entire vehicle. The upper body of the vehicle is made of transparent plastic and can be folded completely backward.

Yamaha states that Motoroid 2 is a personal mobility device that can recognize its "owner," automatically retract its kickstand, and move alongside its owner. Furthermore, the vehicle itself acts like a "living thing," sensing when someone is sitting on it and behaving like a companion.
In addition, the Active Central Control System (AMCES) on Motoroid 2 will help detect orientation, self-balance, and use AI to recognize and react to the rider's gestures and facial expressions.
