Sarr's fourth World Cup goal, scored in the 56th minute, helped him surpass the late legend Papa Bouba Diop to become the top scorer for his national team in the tournament. Four days earlier, Sarr, 28, had equaled Diop's record with a brace against Norway, becoming the first Senegalese player to score in two World Cups.

Senegal defender Moussa Niakhate painted a vivid picture of a quiet man: “He seems very shy, very quiet, but the most important thing is what he shows on the pitch. He always gives his all for his country. He is an inspiration to us.”
Goalkeeper Mory Diaw, who replaced the injured Edouard Mendy, also expressed a similar sentiment. “He works very hard every day. I hope he scores even more goals.”
Ismaila Sarr, born on February 25, 1998, is a product of the Generation Foot youth academy in Senegal, renowned for his speed, technique, and impressive goal-scoring ability.
