Sharing blood

- Over the past 7 years, the voluntary blood donation movement of cadres, union members and workers in the province has spread widely, becoming a regular activity, contributing to better meeting the need for blood in the treatment and emergency care of patients, multiplying noble gestures in life.

Comrade Chau Thi Thu, Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor, said: “Every year, the Provincial Federation of Labor closely coordinates with the Provincial Red Cross Association to organize propaganda and mobilize cadres, union members, employees and workers in many forms such as: posting information about voluntary blood donation activities, calling and mobilizing on the Website, Facebook, Zalo of Tuyen Quang Labor Union... to raise awareness and the profound meaning of participating in donating blood to save lives, ensuring the health of blood donors, creating a widespread blood donation movement, receiving enthusiastic participation from a large number of cadres, union members, employees and workers, demonstrating that voluntary blood donation has become a voluntary movement of union members, employees and workers”.

Officials and members of the Tuyen Quang Newspaper's Trade Union participated in donating blood at the Festival.

With the message "Every drop of blood given - A life remains", more and more businesses, individuals, union members and workers in the province are participating in the voluntary blood donation movement. Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy, Chairman of the Trade Union of MSA - YB Company Limited said: "The company currently has over 2,200 union members and workers. Every year, the union always maintains 1-2 voluntary blood donation campaigns for union members and workers to participate. The company also creates conditions for workers to participate, when donating blood, they are still fully paid, and receive additional support from the company and the union. Therefore, the company has attracted many workers to participate in donating blood 3-5 times".

Ms. Nguyen Khanh Thuong, a worker at MSA - YB Company Limited, shared: “The Executive Board of the Company's Trade Union promoted the voluntary blood donation movement. I realized that donating blood not only helps patients, but also multiplies the good and meaningful things in life. Therefore, I have donated blood 3 times at the blood donation festival organized by the Provincial Labor Federation.”

It has become a tradition that every May, employees of all levels of trade unions in the province respond to the voluntary blood donation festival. Ms. Tran Lien Huong, Vice President of the Trade Union of the Cooperative Alliance of Tuyen Quang province has donated blood 28 times. She shared: “I participated in voluntary blood donation when I was a student at the National Economics University in Hanoi. I just thought that my blood would help patients with serious illnesses, especially pediatric patients with thalassemia who need blood transfusions every day. Understanding the benefits of donating blood to save lives, I not only enthusiastically participated but also mobilized 20 people, including my brothers, sisters, and friends, to register to participate in voluntary blood donation.”

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Association said: "The Provincial Red Cross Association also acknowledges and appreciates the efforts of trade unions at all levels in coordinating with relevant units to effectively carry out the work of mobilizing blood donation to save lives, promoting the tradition of solidarity, mutual love and affection in the community, especially promoting and honoring the noble act of voluntary blood donation."

With the spread of the voluntary blood donation movement since 2018, up to now, trade unions at all levels in the province have mobilized over 10,000 cadres, union members, employees and workers to participate in voluntary blood donation, receiving over 5,200 units of blood. Particularly in the voluntary blood donation festival in May 2025, over 700 cadres, union members, employees and workers in the province participated and received nearly 600 units of blood.

Donating blood to save lives is a noble act, affirming the responsibility of each union member, employee and worker in the province, carrying many humanitarian meanings, contributing to providing enough blood for emergency and treatment of patients at medical facilities in the province to be better and better.
