Unused houses and land will be taxed.

On June 9, the Government Office issued Notice 294/TB-VPCP on the conclusion of the Government Standing Committee at the meeting on the real estate market situation.

In this announcement, the Government requested the Ministry of Finance to report and propose to the Government in June to issue a tax policy on unused housing and real estate; a tax policy on the difference between the land use fee and the selling price of real estate products of projects; and to collect tax on the difference between transactions to limit speculation and real estate price inflation.

The development and promulgation of policies on unused housing and real estate aims to limit speculation and real estate price inflation; encourage the use of land and housing, limit waste of resources; increase budget revenue while making the real estate market transparent and limiting double price declaration to evade taxes.
