Unused houses and land will be taxed.

On June 9th, the Government Office issued Notice 294/TB-VPCP regarding the conclusions of the Standing Committee of the Government at the meeting on the real estate market situation.

In this announcement, the Government requested the Ministry of Finance to report and propose to the Government in June the issuance of policies on taxing unused housing and real estate; policies on taxing the price difference between the land use fee and the selling price of real estate products in projects; and taxing the difference between transactions to curb speculation and inflated real estate prices.

The development and implementation of policies regarding unused housing and real estate aim to curb speculation and inflated real estate prices; encourage the utilization of land and housing, reduce resource waste; increase budget revenue; and simultaneously increase transparency in the real estate market, preventing the use of double-declared prices to evade taxes.
