Shopee officially implemented a joint inspection policy for orders placed from 0:00 on May 19, 2023, nationwide, fulfilling its commitment to providing users with safe and reliable shopping experiences.

In e-commerce, joint inspection refers to the process where goods are jointly inspected by both the delivery staff and the customer. When shopping online, this joint inspection policy plays a crucial role in minimizing the risk of receiving products that differ from the description and saving time and money on returns and exchanges simply because customers are unable to inspect the goods.
Shopee emphasizes the criteria of "clarity" and "safety" through its terms and conditions and implementation methods, ensuring fairness for buyers, sellers, and delivery personnel.
Accordingly, Shopee's co-inspection applies to orders that display the "Co-inspection Allowed" information in the "Order Information" section of the Shopee app after placing the order. Buyers can inspect the product's appearance to ensure the quantity and color match the description. If, upon co-inspection, the product is incorrect or shows signs of damage, the buyer has the right to refuse the delivery.
Orders that require joint inspection will have the note "Allowed for joint inspection" in the delivery instructions. |
Additionally, buyers can request that the shipping company provide instructions on how to conduct a joint inspection and supply necessary tools such as scissors and utility knives. Simultaneously, the shipping company will be permitted to photograph or video record the entire joint inspection process as evidence for future complaint resolution.
To ensure the rights of all parties, buyers must maintain the integrity of the product throughout the joint inspection process, avoiding dropping, breaking, damaging, scratching, or staining the product. Shopee Joint Inspection also requires buyers not to tear or open the manufacturer's seal, the anti-counterfeiting seal, or the shipping information label, and not to try the product. In the case of returns after joint inspection, buyers must return all products in the order along with all packaging, accessories, and accompanying documents, especially the shock-absorbing layer, to ensure the product's integrity when returned to the seller.
Conversely, the buyer's joint inspection will encourage the seller to improve the quality control of incoming goods, store products properly, and optimize customer service and after-sales support.
Cases where Shopee's co-inspection policy does not apply: Shopee's co-inspection policy will not apply to certain product categories and specific items. Specifically, orders containing products in the following groups: Vouchers & Services; Fresh and Frozen Foods; Dairy - Eggs (cream powder, animal & vegetable butter, cheese & cheese powder, cream, eggs, tofu; ornamental plants, automobiles). In addition, co-inspection does not apply to orders with a value exceeding 3 million VND (price after discounts, excluding seller vouchers, Shopee vouchers, Shopee coins, and shipping fees). Importantly, this policy does not apply to orders shipped by Viettel Post, VN Post, VN Post Savings, Seller-delivered shipping, or express shipping…
