Focusing on implementing environmental criteria in the construction of new rural areas, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in Lang Son province have recently intensified the implementation of practical activities on environmental protection in residential areas, mobilizing the active participation of people in maintaining a green, clean, and beautiful living environment.

According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tung, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son province, in 2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the province will continue to innovate and improve the quality of patriotic emulation campaigns and movements, expanding and diversifying forms of propaganda and mobilization to raise people's awareness of environmental protection and climate change adaptation. At the same time, it will organize activities in response to World Environment Day and the annual Month of Action for the Environment, and guide the Vietnam Fatherland Front in districts and cities to coordinate and implement these activities.

In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Son province continues to coordinate the development and maintenance of environmental protection and climate change adaptation models in residential areas. These include the self-governing residential area model "Environmental protection, disaster prevention and climate change adaptation" in Khau Bao residential area (Tan Tri commune, Bac Son district); the model "Unity among Catholic and non-Catholic communities in emulating environmental protection associated with building new rural areas" in Bac Dong I village (Gia Cat commune, Cao Loc district); and the model "Residential area limiting the use of single-use plastic products" in Cua Nam block (Chi Lang ward, Lang Son city), raising awareness among residents not to throw plastic bags into rivers, which spoils the landscape and pollutes the environment.

In Lang Son City, over the years, the City and ward/commune Fronts, member organizations, and Front Work Committees in residential areas have coordinated the implementation of building a cultured and civilized urban lifestyle; propagating and mobilizing people to raise awareness and responsibility, creating habits in preserving and protecting the environment, handling and sorting household waste, and disposing of waste in designated areas. At the same time, they regularly organize "Green Sunday" events, launching general environmental sanitation campaigns, clearing drains and ditches, and building "Green House" models with 146 houses for collecting recyclable waste and 369 neighborhood environmental protection groups in residential areas…

Currently, in Quang Lac commune (Lang Son city), all 9 villages and agencies, units, and schools have actively contributed to building and managing the "Green House" model, with 15 "Green House" models built and maintained throughout the commune. Mr. Hoang Van Cuong - Secretary of the Party Branch and Head of Hoang Trung 1 village (Quang Lac commune) said that from the end of 2023 to the present, the villagers have contributed money to build the "Green House" model to collect plastic bottles and recyclable waste. Depending on the amount of scrap, the village will sort the recyclable waste and sell it to raise funds to support and help disadvantaged families in the area. Through the implementation of this model, the awareness and consciousness of the villagers about environmental protection have also been raised, thereby contributing to reducing plastic waste released into the environment.

It can be said that, with the concerted efforts of the government and people of Lang Son city, along with the decisive involvement of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in Lang Son province, patriotic emulation campaigns and movements have been implemented with focus and emphasis, strongly arousing the creative spirit of the people in participating in building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, protecting the environment, responding to climate change, contributing to the successful implementation of economic and social development tasks in the province, and consolidating the great national unity.
