Online booking data from the world's leading online travel platform booking.com shows that Da Nang and Hoi An are both in the top 10 domestic destinations most searched by Vietnamese tourists from December 20, 2025 to January 4, 2026. Also according to Booking, in the top 10 destinations in Vietnam most searched by international tourists during this time, Da Nang also ranked 4th while Hoi An ranked 6th.

Meanwhile, according to the travel platform Agoda, Da Nang ranked second in Vietnam among destinations attracting international family groups based on accommodation search data in December 2025 and January 2026, with a 42% increase in searches compared to the same period.

Many establishments and destinations in the city have been actively preparing products and services to anticipate the important holiday season for international tourists as well as the early-year travel trends of Vietnamese tourists.

At Ba Na Hills tourist area (Ba Na commune), several Christmas shows and unique themed art activities, rich in multinational cultural colors, are regularly held in December to meet the needs of various tourist markets.

At Vinwonders Nam Hoi An (Thang An commune), space has been arranged to organize Christmas and New Year festivals on December 24-25 and January 1, 2026; snow machines are prepared to serve the "check-in" needs of tourists; and at the same time, the 50% discount program for local people (applicable to 11 provinces and cities in the Central region) is still being maintained.

Meanwhile, many large resorts, mainly concentrated in coastal areas, have launched various discount packages in December, combined with organizing Christmas fairs and giving Christmas gifts to stimulate tourism.

Meanwhile, at the local level, the People's Committee of Da Nang City has also issued a plan to organize the Da Nang New Year Festival 2026, which will take place from December 30 to January 3, 2026.

Also during the final days of the year, the 21st Hoi An - Japan Cultural Exchange will take place in Hoi An ward with a series of unique experiential activities.

Towards harmonizing the customer market structure

According to statistics, in the 11 months of 2025, the total number of guests served by accommodation establishments in Da Nang city is estimated at 16.5 million, an increase of 18.9% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international visitors are estimated at 7 million, an increase of 26.5%; domestic visitors are estimated at 9.5 million, an increase of 13.9% over the same period.

This figure has approached the target of serving about 17.3 million visitors in 2025 set by the local tourism industry. It can be seen that Da Nang's guest reception structure is quite harmonious, with international visitors accounting for about 42%, among the localities with the highest international visitor structure in total visitors in Vietnam.

According to a representative of The Outbox Company (a company specializing in tourism data), the central area of ​​Da Nang is considered a modern, convenient destination with many attractive entertainment and service activities; while the Hoi An area as well as the city outskirts stand out with its cultural, historical values ​​and unique local experiences.

This is an opportunity to diversify the customer segments for Da Nang's tourism industry, becoming a tourism hub that attracts both international and domestic tourists. This will reduce dependence on a few specific markets and ensure the goal of developing the market in terms of both the quantity and quality of tourists.

Mr. Phan Xuan Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, believes that in the future, the tourism industry needs to identify key target markets that are suitable to the characteristics, even unique features, of each region in order to invest in and implement appropriate events and activities.

This will minimize duplication in products, forms, and organizational styles, allowing tourist destinations to support each other's development. Simultaneously, it will provide different tourist markets with more attractive options, encouraging them to extend their stay in Da Nang.

Many exciting activities at the festival "Welcome New Year Da Nang"

On the afternoon of December 9th, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a press conference to announce the "Danang New Year Festival 2026," promising a vibrant, colorful, and diverse festival season for residents and tourists.

This year, the festival takes place for 5 days (from December 30, 2025 to January 3, 2026) with many attractive cultural and entertainment activities. The highlight is the series of check-in models "Welcome New Year 2026" (from December 20, 2025 - January 3, 2026) with 4 unique check-in spaces: a brilliant Christmas space with a 20m high pine tree, a New Year's melody space, a colorful Hoi An space, a golden Da Nang space. Here, visitors can check-in with 2025 Christmas miniatures, traditional lanterns or 3D embossed letter clusters...

The new feature of this year's festival is that the city organizes the "Da Nang - Welcome New Year 2026" boulevard, taking place over three nights (December 30, 2025 - January 1, 2026) on Bach Dang walking street (Hai Chau ward). The boulevard space is recreated as a "creative festival axis", where sound, light and art blend to create a bustling atmosphere to welcome the new year.

Along the avenue, three open art spaces are arranged, allowing visitors to freely explore and experience. These are the "New Year Dance" space with youthful nuances with hip-hop, dance sport, zumba, stepdance performances...; "New Year Colors", where visitors can write wishes, experience lanterns, street magic; "New Year Rhythm" opens a connecting music space, gathering Vietnamese and international bands.

The festival also organizes the "Light up the Han River - Run to the future" race, taking place from 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. on December 31, 2025.

The "Welcome New Year Da Nang 2026" festival also has many other cultural and festival activities such as: art performances, culinary space Cheer Fest - Connecting joy; countdown art program "Shining Harmony", "Hoi An - Welcome New Year 2026", Da Nang Concert 2026 "Endless Flow".

This year, the festival is held on a large scale, at many locations in the city: East bank park of Dragon Bridge (land on Tran Hung Dao - Ly Nam De street), Bach Dang walking street (Hai Chau ward), An Hoi Sculpture Garden (Hoi An ward), 24/3 Square (Ban Thach ward)...

According to Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, the "Welcome New Year Da Nang 2026" festival is an annual cultural, sports and tourism event at the city level. The festival not only brings a vibrant and bustling atmosphere at the moment of transition from the old year to the new year, but also contributes to enhancing the experience of tourists, diversifying tourism products, stimulating demand and attracting tourists to Da Nang. Thereby, creating momentum for the city's tourism industry to continue to make a strong breakthrough in 2026.
