Online booking data from the world's leading online travel platform, booking.com, shows that Da Nang and Hoi An are both among the top 10 most searched domestic destinations by Vietnamese tourists from December 20, 2025 to January 4, 2026. According to Booking.com, Da Nang also ranked 4th among the top 10 most searched destinations in Vietnam by international tourists during this period, while Hoi An ranked 6th.
Meanwhile, according to the travel platform Agoda, Da Nang ranked second in Vietnam among destinations attracting international family groups based on accommodation search data in December 2025 and January 2026, with a 42% increase in searches compared to the same period.
Many establishments and destinations in the city have been actively preparing products and services to anticipate the important holiday season for international tourists as well as the early-year travel trends of Vietnamese tourists.
At Ba Na Hills tourist area (Ba Na commune), several Christmas shows and unique themed art activities, rich in multinational cultural colors, are regularly held in December to meet the needs of various tourist markets.
At Vinwonders Nam Hoi An (Thang An commune), arrangements have been made to host Christmas and New Year's celebrations on December 24-25 and January 1, 2026; snow-making machines are being prepared to serve visitors' "check-in" needs; and the 50% discount on tickets for local residents (applicable to 11 provinces and cities in the Central region) is still being maintained.
Meanwhile, many large resorts, mainly concentrated in coastal areas, have launched various discount packages in December, combined with organizing Christmas fairs and giving Christmas gifts to stimulate tourism.

According to statistics, in the first 11 months of 2025, the total number of guests served by accommodation establishments in Da Nang city is estimated to reach 16.5 million, an increase of 18.9% compared to the same period in 2024. Of which, international guests are estimated at 7 million, an increase of 26.5%; and domestic guests at 9.5 million, an increase of 13.9% compared to the same period.
This figure is close to the local tourism industry's target of serving approximately 17.3 million visitors in 2025. It can be seen that Da Nang's visitor structure is quite balanced, with international tourists accounting for about 42%, placing it among the localities with the highest proportion of international visitors in Vietnam.
According to representatives from The Outbox Company (a company specializing in tourism data), the central area of Da Nang is considered a modern, convenient destination with many attractive entertainment and service activities; while the Hoi An area and the outskirts of the city stand out with their cultural and historical value and unique local experiences.
This is an opportunity to diversify the customer segments for Da Nang's tourism industry, becoming a tourism hub that attracts both international and domestic tourists. This will reduce dependence on a few specific markets and ensure the goal of developing the market in terms of both the quantity and quality of tourists.
Mr. Phan Xuan Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, believes that in the future, the tourism industry needs to identify key target markets that are suitable to the characteristics, even unique features, of each region in order to invest in and implement appropriate events and activities.
This will minimize duplication in products, forms, and organizational styles, allowing tourist destinations to support each other's development. Simultaneously, it will provide different tourist markets with more attractive options, encouraging them to extend their stay in Da Nang.

On the afternoon of December 9th, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a press conference to announce the "Danang New Year Festival 2026," promising a vibrant, colorful, and diverse festival season for residents and tourists.
This year, the festival will take place over 5 days (from December 30, 2025 to January 3, 2026) with many attractive cultural and entertainment activities. A highlight is the "Welcome to the New Year 2026" check-in area (from December 20, 2025 to January 3, 2026) with 4 unique check-in spaces: a dazzling Christmas space with a 20m tall Christmas tree, a New Year's melody space, a Hoi An-themed space, and a Da Nang-themed golden space. Here, visitors can check in with Christmas 2025 themed scenes, traditional lanterns, or 3D illuminated signs...
A new feature of this year's festival is the city's organization of the "Da Nang - Welcoming the New Year 2026" boulevard, taking place over three nights (December 30, 2025 - January 1, 2026) on Bach Dang pedestrian street (Hai Chau ward). The boulevard space is recreated as a "creative festival axis," where sound, light, and art blend to create a vibrant atmosphere to welcome the new year.
Along the boulevard, three open art spaces are arranged, allowing visitors to freely explore and experience. These include the "New Year's Dance" space, featuring youthful performances of hip-hop, dance sport, zumba, and stepdance; "New Year's Colors," where visitors can write New Year's wishes, experience lantern displays, and street magic; and "New Year's Harmony," a connecting musical space bringing together Vietnamese and international bands.
The festival also includes the "Lighting Up the Han River - Running Towards the Future" race, which will take place from 10 PM to midnight on December 31, 2025.
The "Welcome New Year Da Nang 2026" festival also includes many other cultural and festive activities such as: art performances, the Cheer Fest - Connecting Joy food space; the countdown art program "Shining Harmony", "Hoi An - Welcome New Year 2026", and Da Nang Concert 2026 "Endless Flow".
This year, the festival is being held on a large scale at many locations throughout the city: the park on the east bank of the Dragon Bridge (the area along Tran Hung Dao - Ly Nam De street), Bach Dang pedestrian street (Hai Chau ward), An Hoi Sculpture Garden (Hoi An ward), 24/3 Square (Ban Thach ward), etc.
According to Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, the "Welcome to Da Nang 2026" festival is an annual city-level cultural, sports, and tourism event. The festival not only brings a vibrant and lively atmosphere during the transition from the old year to the new, but also contributes to enhancing the visitor experience, diversifying tourism products, and stimulating tourism to Da Nang. This will create momentum for the city's tourism industry to continue its strong growth in 2026.
