Recently, VinFast announced its business results for March 2026, recording impressive sales figures. The company delivered over 93,000 electric motorcycles to customers, equivalent to an average of over 3,000 vehicles sold per day. At the same time, VinFast also stated that actual demand is significantly higher, with the total number of orders in March exceeding 135,000, demonstrating the strong appeal of its electric vehicle product lines.

VinFast electric motorcycles are one of the most popular brands today.
In Can Tho City, electric motorbike dealerships have recently seen a significant increase in customer traffic. Mr. Phuoc Sang, owner of an electric motorbike shop on Ly Tu Trong Street, Ninh Kieu Ward, said that his shop offers many models of domestically produced and imported electric motorbikes, giving customers a wide range of choices. Most customers are looking for electric motorbikes priced around 10 million VND, which is affordable for the majority of people. Since the outbreak of conflict in the Middle East, leading to continuously rising fuel prices, more and more people are choosing electric motorbikes for transportation to save money, resulting in a more than 30% increase in sales compared to previous months.
The growth in electric motorcycles clearly reflects the shift from internal combustion engine motorcycles to electric vehicles in Vietnam, including electric cars. Furthermore, the high fuel prices in March, along with concerns about global energy supply, have also prompted consumers to choose electric motorcycles as a more economical and sustainable solution.
In addition, Circular 92/2025/TT-BNNMT (dated December 31, 2025) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment promulgates the national technical standard on exhaust emissions from motorcycles and mopeds participating in road traffic. Specifically, regulations on exhaust emission testing for motorcycles and mopeds will be implemented from June 30, 2026. The exhaust emission testing roadmap will apply the national technical standard on exhaust emissions from motorcycles and mopeds participating in road traffic as stipulated by the Prime Minister.
Due to objective factors such as rising fuel prices and emissions testing regulations aimed at protecting the environment, motorcycle users will soon have to spend more time and money on periodic inspections. Whether vehicles meet the standards to continue operating, especially older models, is a major concern. However, this reality opens up a "golden opportunity" for electric motorcycles to rise to prominence.
