Sustainable business for survival!

Decision No. 926/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister dated May 25, 2026, approving the Sustainable Business Support Program for the period 2026-2030 (the Program), is not merely an administrative document, but a strategic solution to the national economic transformation. In the context of increasingly stringent international market pressures, the Program acts as a green lever, encouraging 25,000 businesses, cooperatives, and household businesses to proactively change their mindset and enhance their internal competitiveness to collectively achieve Net Zero by 2050. This is a strong signal that sustainable development is no longer a voluntary slogan or an optional branding strategy, but has become a core survival condition for all economic entities in the market.

Looking at the global picture, the success of a business today is no longer measured purely by short-term revenue or profit growth figures. The essence of the new competition lies in the ability to balance economic efficiency with social responsibility and environmental resource protection. The national policy vision to 2030 also aims at this trend by focusing on supporting resources to build at least 20 exemplary sustainable models, turning these "nucleuses" into driving forces for dissemination. The value of the Program is also clearly demonstrated in its resource allocation mindset, through the commitment to prioritizing support for economic organizations owned by women, people with disabilities, or ethnic minorities, ensuring that no one is left behind in this mandatory green transition process.

The consistency of the policy is demonstrated through the clear definition of three core models that serve as a guiding principle for businesses entering a new era. These are: a circular economy with a philosophy of closed-loop resource management, extending the product lifecycle to eliminate waste; an inclusive business model, a humane solution that creates sustainable livelihoods and shares value by integrating low-income individuals deep into the supply chain; and the application of ESG standards to comprehensively standardize everything from environmental and social aspects to internal governance. This classification helps businesses eliminate ambiguity, identify the right path based on their capabilities, and access fair and transparent funding sources when meeting the conditions for green certification, circular projects, or national evaluation criteria.

To ensure a major policy is implemented effectively, the Program also designs a synchronized action framework, transforming market pressures into driving forces for development through solutions that impact both breadth and depth. This ranges from building an ecosystem to raise public awareness to providing direct and practical support to businesses, such as in-depth management training, funding for the transfer of new technologies, the application of artificial intelligence, and subsidies for market expansion into international e-commerce platforms. All of this operates in parallel with a rigorous monitoring and disciplinary inspection mechanism to ensure that investment capital yields tangible results. Clearly, this transformation process is inevitable and cannot be delayed. Proactively adapting by allocating resources is both the right and responsibility of businesses, cooperatives, and individual entrepreneurs to save themselves and reach new heights. This is also the core message the program aims for: Sustainable business – Creating green value, confidently moving towards the future!
