Leading us to the new house of Mr. Nguyen Van Tam, a near-poor household in the town, Mr. Dang Truong Son, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lang Co town, Phu Loc district, informed us that the house was started on April 10, 2025 and completed on May 23 of this year.

Mr. Tam's house was built with a total cost of 120 million VND. On the day of receiving the house, Mr. Tam was moved and thanked the agencies, units, local authorities, and especially the people in the town for their concern, support, and sharing of difficulties with his family...

According to Mr. Dang Truong Son, besides state resources, a crucial resource is mobilizing the strength of agencies, organizations, and people in the town. Each person contributes a small amount of funding or labor to the construction, helping the project to be completed on schedule and saving on construction costs. This strength from the grassroots level is not only effective in eliminating temporary housing, but in all areas, such as mobilizing resources for disease prevention and control, and supporting people affected by natural disasters and floods.

Mobilizing strength at the grassroots level, from within the people, is a crucial resource contributing to socio-economic development. Economic development models, subsequently replicated within communities, are a result of people helping each other. For example, in A Lưới district, people support each other through a model of capital assistance for raising pigs and free-range chickens. In Phú Vang and Phong Điền districts, the "Lotus cultivation - fish farming" model implemented on abandoned agricultural land has yielded high economic returns, with people working together to expand the model.

Mr. Ho Dac Loc, Secretary of the Party Committee of Loc Bon commune, Phu Loc district, said that in recent times, cadres and Party members in the area have played a pioneering role in promoting grassroots strength. A notable example is Mr. Bach Van Phuoc, Secretary of the Hoa My village Party branch. Mr. Phuoc has mobilized households to convert low-yield rice fields to lotus cultivation; and established the Huong Sen Cooperative with 13 members. Thanks to the lotus cultivation model, the estimated income per household per season is over 30 million VND, helping households achieve greater stability in their lives.

As a locality that successfully mobilized resources to eliminate temporary housing in the ward, Mr. Huynh Ngoc Dung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuong Duc Ward, Thuan Hoa District, concluded that the most important thing in leveraging strength is building a solid foundation. This is achieved through the close leadership and guidance of the Party Committee, the coordinated management and implementation by ward leaders, and the efforts of branch secretaries and neighborhood group leaders.

Mr. Hoang Khanh Hung, Standing Committee Member and Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee, said that from July 1st, the new model of operation at the commune level will come into effect. The important goal is to be closer to the people, serve them more effectively, and maximize the strength of the grassroots level for economic development. In the future, the grassroots level will play an even more crucial role, serving as the foundation for carrying out tasks.

Mr. Hoang Khanh Hung emphasized that in the coming period, the requirement is for Party committees and organizations at all levels to strengthen propaganda work, unleash the strength of the entire people; create strong changes in awareness and actions, and enhance the responsibility of Party committees, organizations, the government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, cadres, Party members, and the people. Local governments should continue to launch, maintain, and improve the quality and effectiveness of activities in socio-economic development, linked with the implementation of campaigns and patriotic emulation movements of each unit and locality. Importantly, it is crucial to build a great national unity and gather the strength of the entire people. When the grassroots is strong, it will be the decisive factor in effectively implementing the city's overall tasks.
