Comrade Tran Huu Thuy Giang and Colonel Dang Ngoc Hieu presented gifts to disadvantaged households.

At the event, various organizations and benefactors donated 700 gift packages, including 400 packages for local residents (each worth 500,000 VND); 300 packages for war invalids and families in difficult circumstances (each worth 1,000,000 VND); and 20,000,000 VND for officers and soldiers of the Chan May Port Border Guard Station. The total value of the program was nearly 600,000,000 VND.

On this occasion, the Border Guard force presented 5 gifts as part of the "Helping Children Go to School" program to students in the area; and organized games and sports competitions for the local people.

Over the years, the Border Guard Command of the city has coordinated with local Party committees, authorities, and agencies and businesses to implement many programs to help disadvantaged families in border and coastal areas, such as: "Shelter for the poor in border areas", "Helping children go to school"; "Accompanying women in border areas"; "Spring in border areas brings warmth to the hearts of the people"; "Spring in border areas and islands - Tet full of affection between the military and the people"...

Colonel Hoang Minh Hung, Commander of the City Border Guard, visited the homes of elderly people to offer encouragement and support.

"These are activities organized by Border Guard officers and soldiers to care for the people in border areas during Tet (Lunar New Year); contributing to bringing joy and warmth to families in difficult circumstances; attracting the participation of numerous organizations, businesses, and individuals to support the poor in border areas. These programs have donated hundreds of houses, thousands of gifts, and many 'livelihood models' to households in difficult circumstances in the border and coastal areas of the city. Through this, we contribute to creating motivation, helping people overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives, and actively participate with the Border Guard in managing and firmly protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security in the new situation," emphasized Colonel Dang Ngoc Hieu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the City Border Guard.
