The power of national unity

According to the review, the entire province has 4,979 households in 37 communes and wards of the former Bac Kan province that need support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025. Immediately after the merger of the two provinces, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee identified this as one of the urgent tasks that needed to be done immediately to ensure social security for the people.

From the beginning of July until now, the entire political system of the province has been actively involved, accelerating the progress of supporting the construction of housing for people with meritorious services to the revolution and poor and near-poor households, with the determination to complete it before August 31, 2025.

Over the past few days, thousands of officials, civil servants, soldiers of the armed forces, and local people from the northern communes have been directly present in the villages to participate in supporting house construction.

In Nam Toc village, Phong Quang commune, the construction of a new house for Mr. Tran Van Cao's family was bustling from early morning. This is a highland village with difficult transportation, including many steep and slippery sections.

Nevertheless, groups of people continued to diligently push carts up the slope, some using stones to wedge the wheels for balance, others pulling and pushing, coordinating the transportation of each sack of sand, brick, and block of stone to the construction site.

Commune officials, police officers, militia members, and local residents took turns leveling the ground, digging foundations, and preparing the surface so that the house could be completed as soon as possible.

Mr. Tran Van Cao said emotionally: "My family is struggling, and all we've ever wanted is a sturdy house to live in. Now that officials and neighbors have come to help, I'm deeply moved. Seeing everyone contributing makes me feel stronger and more empowered to overcome life's difficulties."

It is known that by 2025, Phong Quang commune will have 68 houses eligible for support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. Thanks to the decisive involvement of the local Party committee and government, 67 houses have been completed to date.

In late July, in Lung Mieng village, Hiep Luc commune, a large number of commune officials, armed forces personnel, militia, and villagers gathered at Mr. Luu Van Tinh's home to help level the ground, dig foundations, and transport materials in preparation for building a prefabricated house. All were working towards the common goal of helping Mr. Tinh's family have a more decent place to live as soon as possible.

Present from early morning, Comrade Chu Van Tinh, a police officer from Hiep Luc commune, shared: "Helping people build houses is not only a responsibility but also an expression of the police force's affection for the people. We hope that every poor household will have a solid place to live, free from worries when storms and floods come."

Each newly built and completed house for impoverished families is the culmination of the spirit of community solidarity.

In recent days, the commune has mobilized officials, civil servants, armed forces, and residents to participate in supporting households in building houses. The locality has established working groups to go directly to each eligible household to help transport materials, level the ground, and create favorable conditions for construction - said Lieu Van Bay, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hiep Luc commune.

The spirit of mutual support and solidarity continues to spread strongly throughout the province. Many communes and wards in the southern region have proactively donated and supported localities in the northern highlands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. Specifically, on July 12th, Quyet Thang ward donated 50 million VND to Ngan Son commune, contributing to the timely construction of houses for poor households facing housing difficulties.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province also launched a high-intensity emulation campaign "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" for households in 37 northern communes with the spirit of "leaving no one behind". This is not only a call to action but also a message of sharing, spreading the spirit of great solidarity throughout society, contributing to the effective implementation of the program by local Party committees and authorities.

In addition, Thai Nguyen province has actively mobilized social resources from businesses, organizations, and individuals to provide financial support and construction materials to help people build new houses.

From the most disadvantaged areas of the province, thousands of houses have been and are being built. Each newly built house not only provides the poor with decent and sturdy housing but also serves as clear evidence of the strength of solidarity within the community.
