In anticipation of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, many special art and cultural events will take place nationwide and in Ho Chi Minh City.

New compositions, offering fresh perspectives on Ho Chi Minh City, were created by the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association and compiled into a song collection titled "Ho Chi Minh City - The City I Love," which has just been released.

Spreading the melodies of pride.

This collection comprises 30 songs about Ho Chi Minh City, funded by the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association through songwriting competitions. It expresses pride in the city's development and innovation, and the love for their homeland felt by the people of Ho Chi Minh City. The project includes 1,000 copies of the book along with music videos (including background music) released on various digital platforms, aiming to spread these proud melodies about the city to music lovers.

Each song in the collection tells a story, offering a diverse perspective on Ho Chi Minh City – a city of aspiration, creativity, and relentless development. The anthology features both veteran and young composers who grew up with Ho Chi Minh City over the past 50 years, such as: composer Truong Quang Luc with the song "We Go to Build the City Named After Him", composer Tran Xuan Tien "Starlight in Mother's Eyes", composer Pham Minh Tuan "The City's Smile", composer Nguyen Van Hien "Greetings to the City on 50 Seasons of Flowers", composer Nhat Sinh " Ho Chi Minh City, City of Faith", composer Vo Thien Lan "There Is a Very Strange City", composer Nguyen Quang Vinh "Proud of the City Today", composer Nguyen Duc Trung "I Am a City Resident", composer Nguyen Van Chung "The Picture of the New City", composer Hoai An "Radiant Young City", composer The Bao "If Uncle Ho Returns to Nha Rong Wharf", composer Bao Huy "Singing to Celebrate the City's 50th Spring", composer Le Anh Tu "My City, the City Named After Him"…

Composer Nguyen Quang Vinh, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association, said that alongside the release of the song collection "Ho Chi Minh City - The City I Love," the association will also implement widespread promotion to achieve the desired reach. "The association will disseminate these songs through cultural and artistic activities of various units; on media channels such as the Fanpage and the digital transformation Zalo page, and the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association YouTube channel. At the same time, we call on all officials and members of the Music Association to widely share them on their personal Facebook and Zalo pages," composer Nguyen Quang Vinh informed.

Towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, a series of special art and cultural events will take place nationwide, recreating the heroic memories of the nation and honoring the great historical value of the day of national reunification.

The special art program "Song of Victory" - a symphony and chamber music concert - is organized to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. It serves as a tribute to previous generations, a bridge connecting the past and present, so that today's generation may further cherish the peace and freedom we enjoy. The program will take place at 8 PM on April 25th at the Au Co Art Center (Hanoi), and is divided into three parts: "Aspiration for Peace," "Song of Going to Battle," and "Greeting the Spring of Great Victory" - like three chapters of an endless epic about the nation's history.

Following the somber melodies of farewell, the music is replaced by a stirring march, culminating in the radiant tune of the joyous day of reunification. Each song, each orchestral piece, is not just music, but also a story, a memory, and the pride of generations. The concert features Meritorious Artists Tố Nga, Lương Huy, Trường Bắc, and artists Đào Tố Loan, Minh Đức, and Vương Long; conductor Lê Phi Phi, along with the National Symphony Orchestra of the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet Theatre, promising to be a heroic anthem recreating the historical milestones and glorious moments of the nation through the language of music.

The special art program "Memories of Truong Son," organized by the Vietnam Contemporary Art Theatre, will take place on April 27th at the Hanoi Grand Theatre. It will be a gathering of heroic melodies and unforgettable memories of a glorious period in the nation's history. "Memories of Truong Son" brings together veteran artists who directly experienced the brutal years of war, along with talented young artists. People's Artist Thu Hien, People's Artist Thanh Hoa, People's Artist Quang Tho, and People's Artist Trung Duc will recreate timeless songs and melodies that have become symbols of a heroic historical era.

Familiar songs that create a connection between the past and present are performed by the voices of People's Artist Quoc Hung, People's Artist Pham Phuong Thao, People's Artist Hong Hanh, Meritorious Artist Viet Hoan, Viet Danh, Thai Thuy Linh, Bao Yen (Sao Mai), Tien Hung, Trung Sy, Phuc Dai... Audiences will relive historical moments through immortal melodies such as "The Song by Hien Luong Wharf," "Far from Shore," "Love Song," "Greetings, My Girl from Lam Hong," "The Unforgettable Song," "Truong Son East, Truong Son West"... These songs are not only musical works, but also a part of history, expressing patriotism, courage, and the indomitable will of the Vietnamese people.

The "Spring of Unification" program, organized by the Department of Performing Arts in collaboration with the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet Theatre and other related units, took place on the evening of April 29th in front of the Reunification Hall (Ho Chi Minh City). The event brought together over 1,000 artists and performers, delivering a spectacular and meaningful musical evening. The program aimed to preserve and promote traditional culture, combine tourism development, and strengthen national unity. Audiences enjoyed many captivating and meaningful artistic performances such as: "Hanoi - Hue - Saigon," "Fireworks Night," "Spring in Ho Chi Minh City," "At Both Ends of Nostalgia," "Liberation of the South," "The Diligent Plowman," "My Long Road Across the Country," "Spring in the War Zone," "The Song of Ho Chi Minh," "Marching Towards Saigon," "The Country Full of Joy," etc.

Bringing together up to 800 artists, the "North-South Promise" program took place on the evening of April 22nd at My Dinh National Stadium (Hanoi). Audiences witnessed valuable documentary footage, insightful thematic reports, and moving scenes and musical performances at "North-South Promise." The event was a journey back to a glorious past, recreating sacred promises made with blood, tears, and unwavering loyalty by millions of Vietnamese people.

Through artistic performances, the "Spring of Reunification" program aims to convey to all segments of the population a love for their homeland, national pride, and revolutionary traditions under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam; to comprehensively and profoundly assess the country's development achievements in various fields after 50 years of national reunification, and from there to propose directions and tasks for national development in the new era.
