LET'S SEE THE REAL "ACCELERATE"
The center of attention in tonight's Champions League matches is the clash between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund. These are the two teams that played in the 2024 Champions League final less than five months ago.

Having won both La Liga and the Champions League last season, and further strengthening their already formidable attack with superstar Kylian Mbappe, Real Madrid were expected to reach an "unbeatable" level this season. However, they have dropped points three times and are currently three points behind Barcelona in the domestic league. Even more surprisingly, Real lost 0-1 to Lille in their last Champions League match. The defending champions are now only 17th out of 36 teams in the Champions League standings after two rounds.
The left wing in Real Madrid's lineup is overcrowded, often with attacking stars stepping on each other's toes. However, this is a situation that coach Carlo Ancelotti should have anticipated before bringing in Mbappe. After a seemingly unsuccessful start, Mbappe has begun scoring regularly recently. Many observers believe that Real Madrid will hit their stride sooner or later. The question is, when? Real needs to accelerate, with two big matches awaiting them this week: against Champions League runners-up Borussia Dortmund and against Barcelona in La Liga at the weekend! Dani Carvajal (the most important), David Alaba, and Brahim Diaz are injured and unavailable.
DORTMUND WILL FIND IT DIFFICULT TO RETAIN THE TOP SPOT.
Somewhat surprisingly, Dortmund are currently leading the Champions League table. They have won both of their matches and scored 10 goals. However, the biggest reason is undoubtedly that their opponents (Brugge and Celtic) weren't particularly strong. If Dortmund maintain their top spot after this week's Champions League matches, it will certainly be a phenomenon, generating much media attention. The team managed by Nuri Sahin is currently only 7th in the Bundesliga.
Vinícius (number 7) displayed exquisite skill, helping Real Madrid secure a 2-0 victory over Dortmund in the final five months ago.
Karim Adeyemi paid the price for his hat-trick against Celtic in the previous match with a serious injury. In this round, Dortmund will also be without Gio Reyna, Yan Couto, and Julien Duranville due to injury. Without Adeyemi, Dortmund's attack will rely heavily on Serhou Guirassy. Recalling last season's final, Dortmund created numerous scoring opportunities but lost to Real Madrid due to a lack of finishing sharpness in their attack. But tonight, Dortmund's biggest goal will likely be to keep a clean sheet at the Bernabeu, where they have never won in their seven previous visits.
MATCH SCHEDULE FOR THE REMAINING MATCHES
All taking place at 2 AM on October 23rd, the matches between Aston Villa and Bologna, Juventus and Stuttgart, and PSG and PSV Eindhoven are other notable clashes in the Champions League. Along with Dortmund, Aston Villa and Juventus are among the seven teams that have won both of their first two matches. Conversely, their opponents, despite their formidable reputations, have yet to win a game and are currently in the relegation zone. In other words, Bologna and Stuttgart both face difficult, do-or-die matches. PSG has weakened considerably after Mbappe's departure, while PSV is quite successful in the Dutch league (although they have only earned one point in the Champions League).
