Restarting the Hung Vuong road project connecting the Eastern Economic Corridor

This morning, February 23, information from the Project Management Board (QLDA) of Investment and Construction of Quang Tri province said that after a long period of construction suspension, yesterday morning, February 22, the Hung Vuong road project connecting the East-West Economic Corridor and the Southeast Economic Zone through Trieu Phong district, part of the Basic Infrastructure Project for Comprehensive Development of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces (BIIG2) officially restarted.

The Hung Vuong Road project connecting the East-West Economic Corridor and the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone has a total length of nearly 4.2 km, including two routes, the main route is Hung Vuong Road and the branch route is Bao Dai Road. The project is invested by the Department of Planning and Investment, passing through Trieu Ai Commune (Trieu Phong District), and is entrusted to the Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board for implementation.

The project started in November 2021, according to the contract, the contractor is the Joint Venture of Asia Construction Investment Group Joint Stock Company HPP and Dong Do Group Joint Stock Company, to be completed in August 2023, after adjusting the contract implementation time on May 30, 2024. However, many years have passed, the slow and sluggish construction has left the whole project unfinished, affecting the lives and production of the people.

Due to the slow progress, the investor has stopped cooperating with this contractor, found another qualified unit and restarted the project. This is an important project to strengthen inter-regional connectivity, expand the socio-economic development space of the province in general and Trieu Phong district in particular.

Up to this point, the project is still stuck in site clearance for 8 households, of which 7 households have not agreed on the compensation plan on the Bao Dai branch road. After restarting, the project is actively implemented and is expected to be completed in September 2025.
