Opportunity to stimulate tourism

- As scheduled, the Tam Ky Sea Festival 2024 is about to take place. Can you tell us what are the outstanding events and activities of this festival?

- Mr. Nguyen Minh Nam : Developing Tam Ky tourism economy is part of the city's strategy, focusing on Tam Thanh; besides, there are Bai Say Dam River, Ky Anh tunnel, Huong Tra village, Ca Ban village...

For the Tam Ky sea festival which has been held annually for many years, this year the city hopes to create a new atmosphere to contribute to promoting tourism development, creating livelihoods for Tam Thanh people. Thereby, continuing to spread the image of Tam Ky, Tam Thanh to the whole province, the whole country, even internationally; contributing to building Tam Ky city green - culture - history - smart.

With that meaning, this year there will be some new activities such as the beer festival event organized by Heineken Vietnam Brewery; coordinating with AIA Insurance to organize a marathon for the health of the whole people; art programs... with traditional colors.

In particular, the art program with the theme "Tam Thanh - Clear Blue Sea - Cool River" promotes the tourism image of Quang Nam and Tam Ky, telling the story of the land, sea, village, and Truong Giang River.

In addition, there are traditional folk activities carried out by Tam Thanh commune. In the context of limited resources and the policy of promoting socialization, Heineken Vietnam Brewery with Larue beer brand is the main sponsor for the festival. Besides, there are also a number of other accompanying businesses.

- The sea festival has been organized by Tam Ky for many years. How do you evaluate the effectiveness of previous organizations and with the new features of this year's festival, what does the city expect?

- Mr. Nguyen Minh Nam : In addition to the main festival activities in Tam Thanh sea space, Ha Thanh beach, the city also invested in a program to develop a community art village, add paintings, sculptures, renew old sculptures and continue to organize a sketch drawing program connecting artists in Hanoi on June 15. This is an important program, well organized, contributing to tourism development.

Thus, it can be said that in addition to strategic projects to attract Tam Ky to the coastal area, then the Song Dam lake area, Ky Anh tunnels, Tam Thanh sea festival this summer, with a number of new activities and events will leave an impression on the people and tourists, contributing to promoting the tourism economy.

Evaluating the effectiveness of organizing festivals in recent times, in addition to creating a new vitality for Tam Ky tourism, it also brings income and creates livelihoods for local people, gradually forming the image of a peaceful and hospitable Tam Thanh destination.

It can be seen that Tam Thanh is now developing a number of restaurant services, refreshments, and experiential activities such as river boats, homestays, etc., proving that tourism has made positive progress. The city will continue to evaluate and provide strategic directions in the coming time; for example, organizing entertainment activities, international kite flying, national and international beach volleyball to create highlights.

Investing in depth

- Recently, the city has organized many activities, contributing to spreading the value of Tam Ky land and people. Could you tell us how the investment and connection of tourist destinations in the area will be carried out in the coming time?

- Mr. Nguyen Minh Nam : During this sea festival, the city directs local tourist sites to clean the environment, prepare to welcome visitors, connect travel agencies, and create a city-wide tourism chain.

In the long term, Tam Ky is determined to focus on promoting and attracting large projects; promoting Ha Thanh beach with regularly maintained cultural, artistic and sports activities; investing in products built on the foundation of Tam Thanh mural village to develop experiential tourism; and investing in additional infrastructure for Ha Thanh and Tinh Thuy beaches.

In addition, focus on tourism civilization, including the issue of arranging and organizing business, behavior, and training in tourism management skills. In addition, continue to spread the environmental sanitation movement from Tam Thanh mural village, aiming at treating organic waste, not using plastic bags.

Another issue that the city is interested in is developing community capacity for tourism, including building some local products to support tourism.

Every year, Tam Ky has a comprehensive program of activities, events and tourism festivals; notably the Sua flower festival in Huong Tra village, the Song Dam experience and the sea festival. The city continues to invest and is currently planning to develop tourism in Huong Tra village and Ca Ban village.

Regarding Ky Anh tunnel, the city has also agreed on the policy of building a large project, in which 15 billion VND will be invested in 2024 alone to restore the tunnel and some items.

For Dam River, this year we will build a space for entertainment, sightseeing, and experience with a budget of 15 billion VND, striving to have tourism products by March 24, 2025. At the same time, we will organize a national conference on Dam River biodiversity in July.

Huong Tra village festival with the highlight of "Heritage Tree" has many meanings, opening up the cultural story of Tam Ky, a unique tourism product, creating the requirement to preserve, conserve, develop Huong Tra village, develop sưa trees associated with native trees.

Besides, Tam Ky is coordinating with scientists from the Vietnam Museum of Nature to continue submitting heritage tree dossiers for the tree system in Ky Anh tunnel and An Ha hill.

Tam Ky Sea Festival 2024 will take place from June 14 to 30. The opening ceremony will be held on the evening of June 14 at Tam Thanh Sea Square.

This year's festival includes a series of activities such as the Carnival and the "Larue Beer Grand Concert" program; the "Youth Gala" program; the Bai Choi singing art festival; kite flying art performance; Tam Ky food and fish sauce festival; exhibition of OCOP products and startup products; Dat Quang traditional table tennis tournament; the martial arts arena of traditional martial arts clubs of Quang Nam province expanded; Olympic running day...

There are also a number of response activities organized by Tam Thanh commune such as swimming and basket shaking competitions on the open sea; Olympic running day for community health "Tam Thanh with AIA - hello new day.
