Following the merger, Tan Yen commune proactively reviewed and replanned agricultural production towards a concentrated approach. It maintained stable tea cultivation areas; expanded fruit tree growing areas suitable to the soil and climate, gradually forming large-scale production zones conducive to mechanization, application of science and technology, and product consumption linkages. In addition, the commune focused on improving the quality of rural human resources, coordinating with specialized agencies to organize training courses and transfer scientific and technological advancements. It also replicated effective economic models to gradually shift people's production mindset from "following experience" to "following procedures," emphasizing quality and value.
A prime example is the model of growing tomatoes in greenhouses by Mr. Le Huy Dao in sub-district 12. From an area of low-yield, weather-dependent vegetable cultivation, he invested over 1 billion VND to build greenhouses and a drip irrigation system on 1 hectare. Mr. Dao shared: Thanks to the application of science and technology, the yield reaches nearly 400 tons per year, simultaneously affirming the effectiveness of high-tech agricultural development in the locality.

To create leverage for people to develop production, associations and organizations in the commune have played a bridging role, coordinating closely with specialized agencies to build suitable economic models, such as planting fruit trees on sloping land, developing tea and vegetables in greenhouses, and growing biomass corn for livestock. Along with that, preferential credit policies have been widely disseminated, helping people access capital easily. To date, the total outstanding credit in the commune has reached 121 billion VND, becoming an important resource for promoting production and business.
Ms. Mui Thi Nhu, Chairwoman of the Tan Yen Commune Farmers' Association, said: The Association has coordinated with the Moc Chau Branch of the Social Policy Bank to facilitate loans for 391 members, with a total outstanding loan balance of nearly 28.6 billion VND; at the same time, it has supported 6 members in Ta Pheng village to access the Farmers' Support Fund with 600 million VND. This preferential capital has significantly contributed to helping farmers confidently invest, apply advanced techniques, and link production towards commercial goods.
Meanwhile, the family of Mr. Vang A Lu, from Ta Pheng village, borrowed 100 million VND from the Farmers' Support Fund to invest in caring for over 3 hectares of plum and orange trees. Mr. Lu said: Thanks to combining the capital with experience learned from successful farmers, his family's orchard is developing well, and is expected to yield about 30 tons of fruit this year.
Along with capital and technical support, Tan Yen commune also focuses on promoting the role of businesses and cooperatives in production linkages. It creates favorable conditions for companies such as Moc Suong Tea Co., Ltd., Tan Lap Moc Chau Tea Processing Co., Ltd., Tan Lap Tea Production and Business Cooperative, Amifarm Cooperative, etc., to work alongside local people, guiding safe production processes and guaranteeing product purchase. This linkage contributes to stabilizing output, increasing product value, and providing peace of mind for producers. Mr. Vi Van Long, from Doi village, said: "My family cultivates 3 hectares of tea, producing over 10 tons of fresh tea leaves annually. The Tan Lap Tea Production and Business Cooperative purchases the tea at a stable price, allowing us to confidently commit to tea cultivation in the long term."

Thanks to the synchronized implementation of various solutions, agricultural production in Tan Yen commune has seen comprehensive development. The commune currently maintains 1,500 hectares of fruit trees, yielding 11,000 tons; 272 hectares of tea, producing 23,000 tons of fresh tea leaves; and over 2,160 hectares of corn, used both for grain and as feed for dairy cows. Average income per hectare of cultivated land reaches 70 million VND per year. Livestock farming is developing steadily in accordance with biosafety standards, with a total livestock population of over 12,254 animals and approximately 150,200 poultry. These figures not only reflect the scale of production but also demonstrate the effectiveness of the agricultural restructuring process aimed at increasing value.
Mr. Ha Quang Thanh, Chairman of the Tan Yen Commune People's Committee, said: In the coming time, the commune will continue to promote propaganda and mobilize people to develop agriculture in the direction of applying high technology and organic farming; at the same time, effectively integrate capital sources from national target programs to support the maintenance and expansion of economic models. The goal is that by 2030, the commune will achieve the new rural standard, the income value per hectare of cultivated land will reach 85 million VND/year, and the area of production applying high technology will reach 80 hectares.
With the leadership of the government, the support of businesses and cooperatives, and the proactive efforts of the people, agriculture in Tan Yen is becoming a driving force for development, creating a foundation for the locality to break through, moving towards modern, sustainable production, and improving the lives of the people.
