Increase allowances for healthcare workers.

Government Decree No. 192/2026/ND-CP, which stipulates a number of specific allowances in the health sector and provides monthly support for village and neighborhood health workers and village midwives, officially came into effect on July 15, 2026. According to this decree, allowances for many categories of health workers have increased significantly compared to before.

The highest allowance for 24/7 on-call duty is 325,000 VND and the lowest is 185,000 VND per person per shift, depending on the unit or medical facility.

Specifically, facilities for caring for and nursing war veterans and other public social assistance facilities are entitled to 70,000 VND per person per shift. The decree also stipulates a higher-than-usual allowance of 1.3 to 1.8 times for those working in special conditions.

Workers on 12-hour and 16-hour shifts receive allowances equivalent to 50% and 75% of the 24/7 shift rate, respectively. In addition, those on duty also receive meal allowances and residence allowances as per regulations.

For professional activities, surgical allowances are regulated according to the position and type of surgery, with a maximum of 560,000 VND/case; procedure allowances are 30% of the surgical allowance for the same type.

The decree also stipulates a disease control allowance for those directly involved in the prevention and control of infectious diseases.
