Increase the number of exams and exam fees

On March 14, the University of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi issued the 2025 Enrollment Plan for Grade 10 of the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences.

Accordingly, students must achieve academic and training results for the entire school year of secondary school classes at the level of Good or higher (This condition will be tested when candidates are admitted to school).

The school's quota this year is 525, the same as last year. Details are as follows:

Each candidate can register for a maximum of 2 out of 5 majors: Mathematics, Information Technology, Physics, Chemistry, Biology. Candidates should note that they cannot register for two majors with the same exam time.

All candidates must take three general exams: Literature , subject Math (round 1) and subject English, last year was Math and Literature.

Candidates take the specialized exam corresponding to the registered major, including: Math (round 2) for candidates taking the Mathematics and Information Technology exams; subjects Information technology for candidates taking the exam for Information Technology; subject Natural Sciences - Physics Knowledge and Skills for candidates taking the Physics entrance exam; subject Natural Sciences - Knowledge and Skills Chemistry for candidates taking the Chemistry and Chemistry major exam Natural Sciences - Knowledge and Skills Biology for candidates taking the Biology exam.

Candidates for the entrance exam IT major Candidates can choose to take one of two specialized subjects: Math (round 2) or Computer Science. The quota for candidates taking the specialized Math subject (round 2) is 70 and for the specialized Computer Science subject is 35.

Exam format: Multiple choice for English; Multiple choice combined with essay for Literature; Essay for Math (round 1), Math (round 2), Natural Science - Physics knowledge and skills, Natural Science - Chemistry knowledge and skills, Natural Science - Biology knowledge and skills; Computer programming for Information Technology.

Exam time: Literature, Math (round 1) 120 minutes, English 60 minutes and specialized subjects 150 minutes.

The exam content is part of the general education program at the secondary level, ensuring the selection of students with talent in specialized subjects and sufficient learning capacity when studying at specialized schools.

Regarding fees, this year the school increased the exam fees compared to last year.

- Exam for 1 major: 600,000 VND/application (last year was 450,000 VND/application)

- 2 majors: 800,000 VND/application (last year was 600,000 VND/application)

Registration forms are declared and submitted online from April 21 to May 5.

The exam results will be announced before June 24. The expected admission date for successful candidates is July 10.

According to information from the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences, the total number of candidates registered for the 2024 exam is 2,778 candidates. Total quota: 525. Total number of applications for 5 specialized groups: 3,069.

The competition ratio for each specialized class is as follows: Math: 1/7.0; IT: 1/6.3; Physics: 1/5.8; Chemistry: 1/6.6; Biology: 1/3.5.
