Growth drivers
In November, retail activity in the city remained vibrant despite prolonged heavy rains and flooding. According to Da Nang City Statistics, the retail market remained stable in November thanks to year-end promotional programs and sales incentives. In particular, Black Friday boosted sales in many categories such as clothing, household goods, gemstones, precious metals, fuel, and essential consumer goods. The positive growth compared to the same period in 2024 continued across most product categories, indicating that domestic purchasing power remained stable and showed an upward trend in the final months of the year.

Retail sales of goods in November are estimated at VND 11,624 billion, an increase of 15.6% compared to the same period in 2024. Of this, retail sales in supermarkets and shopping malls are estimated at VND 1,025 billion, an increase of 39.4% compared to the same period in 2024.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, total retail sales are expected to continue increasing in the last month of the year as this is the peak season for shopping, tourism , and festivals. At the same time, localities and businesses are urged to accelerate the implementation of demand-stimulating programs during this peak period.
The city's industry and trade sector is promoting the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign to contribute to improving the quality of domestically produced products and goods; and to widely spread the movement of consuming Vietnamese goods through diverse distribution channels. Emphasis is placed on organizing concentrated trade promotion and advertising programs to stimulate consumer demand; and on bringing Vietnamese goods to rural, mountainous, remote, and island areas. Linking with Vietnamese agricultural product exchanges is also being pursued to facilitate the circulation of local specialties and OCOP (One Commune One Product) products.
Retail is one of the pillars of economic growth in Da Nang city. The Department of Industry and Trade requests that localities, business associations, and industries diversify sources of goods supply, continue to develop distribution systems and supply networks, and ensure a continuous supply of goods to the market.
The good news is that the domestic market is creating significant growth potential. Retailers are meeting the increasingly high demands of consumers for quality goods. Businesses are undergoing a strong transformation, accelerating digital transformation to meet the demands of e-commerce and enhancing price competitiveness for their products.
