Along with improving product quality, design, and packaging, functional agencies at all levels and OCOP (One Commune One Product) units in the province always focus on promoting trade and expanding consumer markets.
Efforts from stakeholders
By mid-2025, the shiitake mushroom products of Phu Gia Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (located in Dai Phuc commune) will be recognized as meeting the national 5-star OCOP standard. This is a significant milestone for the company in its investment, production process improvement, and brand building efforts. The 5-star rating opens up more favorable opportunities for market connections and enhances product reputation.
Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Hoa, Deputy Director of the company, shared: "We recognize that quality is the key factor in building our brand. From selecting raw materials and controlling the growing environment to processing and packaging, we strictly adhere to procedures, ensuring food safety and focusing on the health benefits of consumers."
Besides production, the company actively participates in OCOP product promotion programs both within and outside the province, connecting with distribution systems, supermarkets, and export partners. As a result, mushroom products, especially the 5-star certified varieties, are available in many provinces and cities and are gradually accessing foreign markets.

Hao Dat Tea Cooperative (Tan Cuong commune) currently has 2 products that have achieved 5-star national OCOP certification and 1 product that has achieved 4-star certification. The cooperative always focuses on linking with business partners, building a stable system of agents and distribution channels for its tea products.
Similarly, in the Tan Cuong tea growing region, Hao Dat Tea Cooperative has proactively linked with partners, building a stable network of agents and distribution channels for its hook-shaped tea, shrimp-shaped tea, and bud-shaped tea products. To date, the cooperative has two products that have achieved 5-star national OCOP certification and one product that has achieved 4-star certification. Achieving high standards helps elevate the brand image of the products, making it easier to access markets with stringent standards.
Tan Huong Tea Cooperative (Dai Phuc commune) also maintains a fairly stable output with 2 products achieving OCOP 4-star and 1 product achieving 3 stars. According to the cooperative's representative, in addition to maintaining traditional quality, the unit focuses on nurturing its loyal customer base and expanding sales through online channels to adapt to new consumer trends.
From the reality, it can be seen that OCOP (One Commune One Product) entities in the province are increasingly focusing on standardizing production processes, building brands, and establishing consumption linkages. Many products meet the requirements to enter the system of supermarkets and safe agricultural product stores nationwide. Notable examples include cooperatives such as Hao Dat, Tam Tra Thai, Trung Du Tan Cuong, Nhat Thuc, La Bang, and Viet Cuong vermicelli… Some units have built distribution networks in many major provinces and cities.
Taking advantage of trade promotion programs organized by the province, businesses proactively register to participate in fairs, exhibitions, and product weeks to promote OCOP products.
Ms. Tong Thi Xuyen, Head of the traditional tea-making village of Trung Thanh 2 hamlet and Director of Hoan Xuyen Tea Cooperative in Vo Tranh commune, said: "Each time we participate in the fair, it's an opportunity to introduce our products, find partners, understand consumer trends, and adjust our production strategy accordingly."

Participating in the OCOP product networking forum in the Mekong Delta region, held in An Giang province in September 2025, many businesses and cooperatives from Thai Nguyen have connected and found partners to ensure stable product consumption.
Alongside direct activities, many stakeholders are actively participating in the digital platform built by the province to digitize the management, evaluation, ranking, and promotion of OCOP products. The creation of virtual reality technology booths and the updating of product information on the province's shared website help improve customer accessibility.
Some businesses are taking advantage of financial support to build their own websites, design brand identities, invest in packaging and labels, and gradually professionalize their business operations.
Managerial support
Besides the efforts of stakeholders, state management agencies play a crucial role in guiding, supporting, and connecting the market. Trade promotion and marketing activities are regularly implemented, prioritizing products that meet 4-5 star standards. Communication efforts are intensified across multiple channels, combining traditional methods and social media platforms to expand reach.
Every year, Thai Nguyen organizes a provincial-level OCOP product exhibition and fair, and also brings its products to participate in fairs and promotional events in many localities throughout the country.

Thai Nguyen's OCOP products attract considerable attention from consumers at exhibitions, fairs, and trade promotion programs organized both within and outside the province.
At the end of September 2025, the province will organize an exhibition and introduction of typical OCOP products associated with tea culture at the Mekong Delta OCOP Product Connection Forum, held in An Giang. Through this event, many tea products and characteristic agricultural products will be widely promoted, creating opportunities for signing cooperation agreements for consumption.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam, Head of the Provincial Department of Cooperative Economics and Rural Development, informed: Participating in the forum helps promote the image of tourism, agricultural products, and tea culture of Thai Nguyen. Several businesses and cooperatives have connected and signed product consumption agreements right at the event, opening up prospects for long-term cooperation.
In addition to focusing on the domestic market, the province has also selected 28 OCOP products registered with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to participate in promotional activities at several distribution systems in the US market.
This initiative aims to explore demand and gradually introduce the province's distinctive products to the international market. The province also organizes an OCOP product exhibition and introduction day, integrating the promotion of rural tourism and local culture.
In the field of e-commerce, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, in coordination with relevant departments and localities, supports the listing of OCOP products on trading platforms; and organizes training in online sales skills and livestreaming for promotion.
To date, over 200,000 agricultural households in the province have created accounts on the Postmart.vn and Voso.vn platforms, with more than 3,000 products participating in transactions. Many OCOP products have recorded stable sales through online channels.

The province has also expanded cooperation with major e-commerce platforms; signed a memorandum of cooperation with Shopee Vietnam Co., Ltd., to build a "Thai Nguyen Product Showroom" on Shopee to increase brand recognition and sales. At the same time, it maintains a list of establishments with OCOP-certified products and those with confirmed safe food supply chains for publication in the "Green Addresses - Clean Agricultural Products" section of central and local specialized agencies. Publicizing this information contributes to enhancing reputation and building consumer trust.
Thanks to the synchronized implementation of various solutions, the economic value of OCOP-certified products in the province has increased by an average of 20% or more after being recognized. However, the increasingly competitive market demands that businesses continue to innovate, improve management capacity, invest in advanced processing technology, and standardize quality standards.
In the coming period, provincial authorities and departments will continue to expand the network connecting OCOP products domestically and internationally; build and replicate models of sales points and product display centers in a synchronized and modern manner, linked to the development of rural tourism.
Alongside this, there is a need to promote the application of information technology and e-commerce, especially for small-scale specialty products. The goal is to ensure stable outlets, enhance competitiveness, and promote sustainable development for OCOP products in Thai Nguyen.
