- From mid-June 2026 to the present, the volume of fresh fruits exported to China through the province's border gates has increased sharply. To ensure smooth export of fresh fruits, the provincial authorities have implemented solutions to expedite customs clearance.
According to statistics from Tan Thanh border gate customs, from June 1st to the present, an average of 160-170 vehicles carrying fresh fruit for export have passed through the border gate each day, an increase of 60-70 vehicles compared to May 2026.
Export volume increased sharply.
Ms. Phan Thi Lien, Deputy Team Leader of Tan Thanh Border Gate Customs, said: "Currently, the value of fresh fruit exports processed at our unit has increased by about 15% compared to the previous month. This is the peak harvest season for lychees, mangoes, dragon fruit, and durians in the northern and central provinces, so businesses are increasing the volume of fruit exports via the dedicated transport route in the area of border markers 1088/2-1089 (Tan Thanh – Po Chai) to the Chinese market."
At the Chi Ma border gate, the Huu Nghi International Border Gate, and the customs clearance area at markers 1104-1105 (Coc Nam - Lung Nghiu), the volume of exported fruits has also increased sharply in recent days.

According to statistics from the Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Economic Zone Management Board, from the beginning of June 2026 to the present, an average of 570-580 vehicles carrying export goods have passed through the province's border gates each day. Of these, the number of vehicles carrying fresh fruit for export averages about 370 vehicles per day, reaching a peak of 399 vehicles on some days, accounting for approximately 66% of the total number of vehicles carrying export goods passing through customs that day. Businesses have exported more than 110,000 tons of fruit and agricultural products, with fresh fruit accounting for 70%, an increase of over 20% compared to the same period in May 2026.
Improve customs clearance efficiency.
Mr. Vu Viet Hai, Deputy Head of the Management Board of the Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Economic Zone, said: After reviewing and understanding the timing of the increase in Vietnamese fresh fruit exports through border gates, to ensure smooth export operations, starting from May 2026, the board has proactively worked with relevant agencies at Chinese border gates to agree on procedures and organize customs clearance for goods in general and fruits in particular. Through direct discussions and exchanges, the relevant agencies of both sides have agreed to separate the inspection stream for fruits from other goods to shorten inspection and clearance time; and agreed to increase the level of facilitation of customs clearance for imported and exported fruits between the two sides. Extending working hours during periods of increased cargo volume;… This has helped improve the overall efficiency of customs clearance, especially for fruits, through the province's border gates by more than 25% compared to May 2026.
Mr. Ma Thanh Giang, Deputy Head of the Customs Sub-Department Region VI, said: It is expected that in the coming time, businesses will continue to increase export activities of fruits through the province's border gates. Therefore, to improve customs clearance efficiency, the Customs Sub-Department Region VI has directed customs offices at border gates to proactively coordinate with the Border Gate Management Center and other forces at the border gates to standardize the control of export goods. This includes standardizing the implementation of separate export lanes for vehicles carrying fresh fruit; regularly exchanging information on developments at the opposite border gate to provide timely solutions and prevent congestion of vehicles carrying exported fruit at the border gate;…
During this period, the leaders of the Customs Sub-department Region VI directed customs officers at the province's border gates to work through lunchtime and on holidays, prioritizing the processing of customs declarations related to exported fruit from businesses, with the goal of completing all declarations within the day. Simultaneously, customs officers at the border gates also established Zalo groups for two-way communication with fruit exporting businesses to promptly identify and resolve any issues during the customs clearance process. These measures ensured that all fresh fruit shipments were exported on the same day, avoiding the need to store goods overnight.
It can be said that these days, in order to ensure the quality of exported fruit shipments and minimize losses for export businesses, relevant agencies and forces at border gates in Lang Son province are working at full speed to expedite customs clearance of this commodity.
