In the first two months of 2026, Tan Thanh Border Gate Customs collected over 1,320 billion VND, reaching 38.8% of the assigned legal target (3,400 billion VND). With this revenue, Tan Thanh Border Gate Customs is the unit with the highest revenue collection compared to other border gate customs units under the Customs Sub-department of Region VI.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Bach, Team Leader of Tan Thanh Border Gate Customs, shared that, following the directives of the leaders of the Customs Sub-department Region VI, from the beginning of the year, Tan Thanh Border Gate Customs met with and invited import-export businesses dealing in high-tax goods such as imported transport vehicles, machinery and equipment, and electric motorcycle components to complete procedures and declare taxes at Tan Thanh Border Gate Customs. These efforts helped the unit achieve the high revenue figures mentioned above. At times, the tax revenue exceeded 100 billion VND per day – the highest daily revenue ever recorded.
In the first two months of 2026, the tax revenue from import and export activities of the Customs Sub-Department of Region VI reached nearly 3,200 billion VND, achieving 33% of the assigned legal target (9,600 billion VND) and 20.6% of the target assigned by the Customs Department (15,000 billion VND), exceeding the target set by the Customs Sub-Department of Region VI by more than 17.7%. |
From the beginning of January 2026, the leaders of the Customs Sub-Department Region VI developed plans and proposed specific solutions to guide customs officers at border gates in their implementation.
A clear example is that from January 2026, the Customs Sub-Department of Region VI has developed a detailed plan for state budget revenue collection in 2026 to allocate revenue targets to each border customs office; and has developed a detailed plan for meetings and working sessions with large tax-paying import-export businesses and businesses with import-investment projects passing through Lang Son province.
As a result, in the first two months of 2026, working groups from the Customs Sub-department of Region VI worked with and encouraged 52 businesses involved in the import and export of goods such as transportation vehicles, industrial machinery, automobile and electronic components, construction materials, telephones, rice cooker components, etc., to complete declaration and tax payment procedures at the provincial customs agency; and encouraged 32 businesses that regularly transship goods with high tax rates (these businesses had not previously processed tax payments at the Lang Son customs agency) to complete procedures and pay taxes at customs checkpoints under the jurisdiction of the Customs Sub-department of Region VI.
With these solutions, in the first two months of 2026, nearly 2,600 businesses opened import and export declarations at customs checkpoints under the Customs Sub-department of Region VI, an increase of approximately 50% compared to the same period in 2025. This contributed to a significant increase in import and export tax revenue in the first two months of the year compared to the same period in 2025.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoan, Head of the Customs Sub-Department Region VI, stated: In 2026, increasing budget revenue is the most important priority for the sub-department. To achieve the targets set by higher authorities, the sub-department will continue to strengthen efforts to meet with, encourage, and attract businesses involved in import and export of goods with high tax rates, as well as invite all businesses with tax payments exceeding 10 billion VND/year, and businesses with import investment projects in the province, to open tax declarations and pay taxes within the province.
Simultaneously, the customs office implemented solutions to facilitate customs clearance. Specifically, it developed procedures for implementing regulations on customs supervision of import and export goods, applied new technologies to increase data connectivity between customs agencies and functional agencies at border gates, etc. This shortened the time for customs clearance and reduced costs for import and export businesses. At the same time, the customs office exchanged information and coordinated with the Management Board of the Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Economic Zone and relevant forces at the border gate to jointly resolve difficulties and obstacles in import and export; strengthened the implementation of diplomatic activities and information exchange with the government and functional forces of China, ensuring smooth customs clearance at border gates in the area;…
With the solutions that have been and are being implemented, the Customs Sub-Department of Region VI is determined to achieve the target of 18 trillion VND in revenue collection.
