- At this time, chili plants are entering the tillering, flowering, and fruiting stages. This is a crucial period that directly determines the yield, production, and quality of the fruit later on. Therefore, chili growers in the province are busy implementing care measures to ensure stable plant growth and development.
In these March days, in Nhan Ly commune, one of the communes with a large chili-growing area in the province, the atmosphere in the fields is bustling with activity. Ms. Hoang Thi Tam, from Hop Nhat village, Nhan Ly commune, shared: "This year, my family planted 3 sao (approximately 0.3 hectares) of chili peppers, and the plants are currently in the flowering and fruiting stage. To ensure good plant growth, at this time, my family is focusing on weeding, fertilizing, tilling, and watering to nourish the flowers and help increase the fruit setting rate."

Not only Mrs. Tam's family, but many households in Nhan Ly commune are currently actively tending to their spring chili crop. To ensure the chili plants thrive, the commune has provided guidance and recommendations on care and pest control measures to the farmers. Ms. Nong Thi Minh Hong, Deputy Head of the Economic Department of the commune, said: The department has coordinated with the commune's Public Service Center to guide people in applying scientific and technical methods to chili cultivation; implementing weeding, balanced fertilization, soil moisture retention, and regular field inspections to promptly detect and treat pests and diseases. To date, the chili crop in the area is growing and developing stably.
Along with Nhan Ly commune, chili growers throughout the province are currently focusing on weeding, tilling, fertilizing, and watering their spring chili crops. According to statistics, this spring, the province planted over 1,400 hectares, mainly concentrated in the communes of Nhan Ly, Quan Son, Chien Thang, and Loc Binh… Currently, the weather is unpredictable, with alternating sunshine and rain, and high humidity, creating favorable conditions for pests and diseases to develop and damage chili plants. Currently, some diseases such as aphids, root rot, and yellowing leaves are appearing on chili plants at a mild level.
Ms. Luong Thi Lieu, from Lang Xe village, Loc Binh commune, said: "My family planted more than 2 acres of chili peppers. Currently, the plants are in the flowering and fruiting stage, but some minor pests and diseases have appeared. Given this situation, my family proactively sprayed pesticides and applied fertilizer and watered the plants. Thanks to applying appropriate care measures, the chili pepper crop in my family's garden is growing and developing steadily."
Over the years, chili peppers have been widely cultivated by farmers in the province. They are considered one of the main crops in the communes. The periods when chili plants sprout, flower, and bear fruit are considered crucial, directly affecting the yield and production of the crop.
Thanks to the proactive efforts of the people, the support of local authorities and specialized agencies, the area planted with spring chili peppers in the province is growing and developing well, promising a high-yield and high-quality harvest. This will contribute to increasing farmers' income and promoting the development of the local agricultural economy.
